[18:23] Murska: There doesn't seem to be anything that special going on, but there is some gathering of supplies, and of course if she passes the practice ground she'll see Aegnor, who's always interesting, in a fight with a wolfen.
[18:24] Shadowcaller: (He is always intresting huh?:P)
[18:24] Shadowcaller: (Hm, him as a narrator…)
[18:25] Shadowcaller: I guess she goes by the practice ground then
[18:27] Murska: She sees Aegnor circling a Wolfen recruit warily, both eyeing each other for gaps. Aegnor is holding two wooden daggers while the Wolfen is 'unarmed' as much as a wolfen can be.
[18:28] Shadowcaller: (Two wooden daggers?)
[18:28] Murska: (yeah?)
[18:29] Shadowcaller: (Hm, its just that I never heard of wooden daggers. But go on.)
[18:29] Murska: Suddenly the wolfen leaps forwards and takes a swipe at Aegnor, who dances past the blow, swiping downwards at the overextended wolfen's arm. He has to jerk it back awkwardly and Aegnor throws one of the daggers, hitting at his chest. 'Dead. That'd have been throat in a real fight.'
[18:29] Murska: (Like a wooden sword, but shorter?)
[18:29] Shadowcaller: (Yes, but don't you say short sword then?)
[18:30] Murska: (it's not a short sword)
[18:30] Murska: (it's dagger-sized)
[18:31] Murska: The wolfen growls something Cessie can't hear from that far. Aegnor hears it however, and his voice is loud enough for everyone to hear. The other recruits are around the combatants, with Suroshian a bit on the side. 'I wouldn't hit, you say? Someone bring me a target.'
[18:32] Murska: Soon enough Aegnor will be standing some distance from a wooden 'target', barely more than a tree trunk with some markings in it, unless Cessie decides to do something.
[18:35] Shadowcaller: I guess she just approaches slowly, not really sure what do to. She know that Aegnor is trying to be the "leader" an all…
[18:36] Murska: Aegnor picks one of his daggers, balancing it on his hand carefully.
[18:36] Shadowcaller: *and
[18:37] Murska: 'So. Throat.' He flicks it at the target almost effortlessly and strikes a blade's thickness to the left of the exact center of the throat of the man-sized target drawn to the trunk.
[18:37] Murska: Just as the men start clapping, he continues. 'Heart.' *thunk* 'Eye.' *thunk* 'Wrist.' *thunk*

[18:38] Shadowcaller: (Indeed…)
[18:38] Shadowcaller: (And they would see magic as "cheating" I guess…)

[18:41] Murska: (Crowd? I'd assume she'd just watch on the edge of the field.)

[18:42] Murska: The men cheer as he goes retrieve the daggers. He just smiles as he turns. 'Now, in a real fight, nothing would be this clean. He'd be moving, probably holding a weapon in front of him and be armoured.'
[18:43] Murska: 'You need to realize that even though the men you'll be facing are just 'guards', they're much more experienced and better equipped. This war isn't about fighting the enemy, it's about hurting the enemy's capability to fight.''
[18:44] Murska: 'Most of the time, if you'd have to face a soldier fully aware of you, the best and only course of action would be to retreat right away.'
[18:44] Murska: One of the Wolfen growls. 'I'm not a coward! Let them come!'
[18:44] Shadowcaller: Cessie rolls her eyesw at that comment
[18:44] Shadowcaller: *eyes
[18:44] Murska: In an instant, Suroshian is behind him and whacks him on the head with a wooden sword. Aegnor calmly continues. 'You're dead.'
[18:45] Murska: 'That was from behind!'
[18:45] Murska: 'Do you think the enemy will be kind enough to tap you on the shoulder first in a real fight?'
[18:46] Murska: 'Face it: We are not going to defeat an enemy force which outnumbers us, is better trained and better equipped in a battle.'
[18:47] Shadowcaller: Cessie don't really have anything to add. She don't know much about war anyway.
[18:48] Murska: 'For every one of us lost, they can afford to lose many more. So, however much you'd like to earn a name and be a hero, the priority in a confrontation for you is to NOT DIE.'

[18:51] Murska: Aegnor continues to stress to the men the importance of mobility, intelligence and the fact that following orders means the difference between not only them dying or not dying but also the whole war being lost or being won and, as an extension, the village's survival or death along with the horrible effects the continued closure of the gate would have upon the world.
[18:52] Murska: After a while, he leaves the actual training to Suroshian whose loud voice can be heard from halfway across the village and walks towards Cessie.
[18:54] Shadowcaller: She walks off to the outside the practice ground, motioning Aegnor to follow her.
[18:54] Murska: Aegnor follows her, curious.
[18:56] Shadowcaller: When he comes closer he can notice that she looks quite tired. She still tries to smile at him as he come closer thought.
[18:57] Murska: Aegnor doesn't show any signs of being tired, instead walking tall and confidently. He also smiles. 'Suroshian should be able to take care of that for now.'
[18:59] Shadowcaller: She cuts Aegnor off "I just been talking to Arik, he have been raising the dead villagers."
[18:59] Murska: 'What? I thought the village decided to not accept that?'
[19:01] Shadowcaller: "He said he cut a secret deal with Gilraen. Against the will of the villagers."
[19:02] Murska: Aegnor curses quietly. 'Hm. What is he using them for?'
[19:03] Shadowcaller: "No idea… I didin't even want to ask."
[19:03] Shadowcaller: "Maybe I should have…" She shakes her head
[19:04] Murska: 'If the villagers find out, we're going to have our first morale crisis way sooner than anticipated.'
[19:05] Shadowcaller: "He is hiding them somewhere in the woods I think. I hope he have the sense of making them invisible at least…"
[19:05] Happy: (and unsmellable)
[19:06] Shadowcaller: "He… had a few good points actually, but I still think… he should have asked them!"
[19:06] Murska: 'Indeed. We have to work together, not behind each other's backs.'

[19:22] Murska: Aegnor walks there with her. He waves at some people while passing and exchanges a few words with people, mostly telling them he'll be there to sort their problems later.
[19:24] Shadowcaller: They arrive at the hut then, Cessie enters first. The first thing she dose is laying down in the "bed".
[19:27] Murska: Aegnor sits down next to her and takes out his Kazoo. 'I'll check on you later on, it'll be your turn to contact the scouts in the evening.'
[19:28] Shadowcaller: "Sure, I don't mind. Your the only person I would allow to put me to sleep after all."
[19:30] Murska: Aegnor starts playing a few notes, the familiar melody flowing into her mind and making her drowsy. 'Sleep now…'
[19:30] Shadowcaller: She quickly falls asleep…
[19:30] Shadowcaller: (You might add dreams if you like^^)

[20:08] Shadowcaller: She tries to make out what the music comes from
[20:08] Happy: She might catch a glimpse of the musician's red hair.
[20:09] Shadowcaller: Well, she is too shy to come down there, but she listens a bit from her window
[20:11] Happy: She can see Arik crossing the courtyard, towards the gathering.
[20:12] Shadowcaller: She ponders if she is going to say hi to Arik from the window, but she decides not to. Instead she waits for him to arrive at her room.
[20:14] Happy: Arik walks up to someone on the outskirts of the crowd and touches them. They fall down dead, and then rise up again as an undead.
[20:16] Shadowcaller: Cessie scream and gets away from the window, not really sure she can belive what she just saw
[20:18] Shadowcaller: It feels like hundreds of toughts flies throught her head at the same time, /WHy? Why did he…/ /Should I tell Rohim?/ /What is going on? Oh gods…/
[20:19] Happy: The music continues, as if no one seems to have noticed anything wrong.
[20:19] Happy: Or heard Cessie's scream.
[20:19] Shadowcaller: She takes another look out of the window, just to make sure she really saw that
[20:20] Happy: Arik is continuing to touch people in the crowd and raise them as undead. Six of them so far. There goes a seventh.
[20:21] Happy: None of the living people seem to notice, nor does the musician.
[20:22] Shadowcaller: She feels her head clouding, she have no idea what to do /Why is he doing all this? Why is he…/ /What am I going to do? What am I going to do?/
[20:23] Shadowcaller: Finally she decides to tell someone, she must… do something
[20:23] Shadowcaller: She opens the door and runs throught the corridor, looking for someone to help her

[20:24] Happy: No one answers. The corridors are empty.
[20:25] Shadowcaller: She goes to the intstructors corridor, still wondering where everyone is
[20:26] Happy: There doesn't seem to be anyone here. Cessie begins to realize that there's no one who can help her. That it's up to her to try and do something.
[20:27] Shadowcaller: /But I can't… I'm just a student… / She feels really hopeless, why can't anyone help her?
[20:27] Shadowcaller: SHe finally decides to go down to the courtyard, maybe it was all just a illusion?

[20:30] Happy: She steps into the courtyard. The music is very lively and up-beat. The living people are dancing.
[20:30] Shadowcaller: What is Arik doing?
[20:31] Happy: He touches another dancing person.
[20:31] Happy: He seems to have about half of the crowd as undead now, following him silently.
[20:31] Shadowcaller: "Arik!" She screams, rushing toward him
[20:33] Happy: Arik turns around. "What's wrong? Are you in trouble?"
[20:35] Shadowcaller: She suddenly stops, trying to see what his reaction is, she is a bit out of breath after all that running.
[20:36] Happy: Arik is completely concerned for her, reaching out to give her a 'boost' and help her reover.
[20:38] Shadowcaller: She steps back a bit, suddenly a bit afraid. "Wha- what are you doing?"
[20:38] Happy: Arik looks irritable. "Well I can't let /him/ have all the influence around here." He gestures to the musician.
[20:40] Shadowcaller: Cessies eyes are drawn to the musican and then back at Arik, looking very confused at him "What do you mean?Whats going on?"
[20:40] Shadowcaller: She sounds a bit paniced
[20:41] Happy: "Look at him. Everyone listens to him. Everyone loves his music. Everyone does what he tells them."
[20:41] Happy: When she looks at the musician, she can see that he isn't alone.
[20:43] Happy: A small girl with long hair, dark, with a reddish tint is playing drums.
[20:44] Shadowcaller: "But.. those people. Y- you killed them." Her voice is shaking a bit.
[20:46] Murska: Aegnor keeps playing but smiles as her as she looks that way.
[20:46] Happy: "I need to take his audience from him."
[20:47] Shadowcaller: She looks at him, her face a mask of confusion and fear "But… you killed them."

[21:06] Happy: The little girl squeals in delight. "Uncle Arik!"
[21:08] Shadowcaller: "Please, what is going on? Arik please don't do anything… what is happening? Who are they?"

[21:09] Murska: 'Cessie?'
[21:10] Shadowcaller: She finally looks at the musican again "Who is he? Arik?…"
[21:12] Murska: 'You've finished studying? Are you sure you don't want to sing? You know how much she likes it…'

[21:21] Murska: The music keeps playing on the background. 'I don't control people… not like you do.'
[21:25] Shadowcaller: "Mommy? Girl, I'm not your mother." Cessie says, sure of something in this for the very first time.

[21:26] Happy: Her eyes fill with tears. "… Mommy?" She turns to Aegnor. "Daddy?" Cessie can see how much the girl resembles her.
[21:27] Murska: 'Mommy's just been studying too much again.' Aegnor hugs the child.
[21:27] Happy: Arik crouches down next to her. "It's okay, Hope. Come give your Uncle Arik a hug." His tone is affectionate.

[21:30] Happy: The girl tries to squirm out of Aegnor's arms to go and hug Arik.

[22:07] Shadowcaller: "No, no… this is not real. Your lying," She turns to Arik. "Are you trying to trick me? Please say this is just a illusion…"
[22:08] Happy: "Yes, yes, you were married. I thought about stopping it, but I didn't, because I would do anything for you. Even spare the elf." He smiles maliciously.
[22:09] Happy: "But of course if I hadn't, then you wouldn't have had Hope. And she's so talented. Hope, have you been practicing the spell I taught you?"
[22:09] Shadowcaller: She shakes her head and takes more steps back, "I'm… something must have happend to me. An madness spell… an accident…"
[22:10] Happy: Hope nods solemly, scrunches up her face, and holds out a hand, which begins to glow. A very weak Light spell.
[22:11] Shadowcaller: "This is not real." She states, trying to sound convincing, mostly to herself
[22:13] Happy: The courtyard fades, and the setting changes to the glade on the Tree.
[22:13] Happy: The spectators, living and undead, are gone.
[22:14] Shadowcaller: Cessie blinks and repeats, a bit stronger, "Yes, this is not real." She sound relived
[22:16] Happy: "It will be," Hope says solemly. "Uncle Arik, you're all boney."
[22:17] Shadowcaller: "All this is cuased by some spell… they must dispel it any moment now."
[22:22] Murska: Aegnor looks around, smiling. 'You've been studying so hard… I thought I'd bring you back to where it all started.'
[22:23] Shadowcaller: "This spell must really be messing with my mind…"
[22:23] Happy: The glade is familiar though. Cessie is sure she has been here before, with Aegnor.

[22:29] Happy: Arik has vanished. Hope is sitting with her feet in the water, singing a song that Aegnor wrote.
[22:31] Murska: Aegnor sounds sad. 'You don't trust me anymore?'
[22:32] Happy: "Play for her, Daddy," Hope says.
[22:32] Shadowcaller: She shakes her head, Aegnor can see that she is confused and scared, trying to make sense of everything (she is younger after all…)
[22:33] Happy: (Yes, but this is still inside her adult mind. So she can still remember her life, if she tries.)
[22:34] Shadowcaller: (Well, the younger mind is still convinced that all those memories are cuased by the spell.)
[22:34] Murska: Aegnor starts playing. It's the melody he uses to make her sleep, but somehow slightly different.
[22:34] Shadowcaller: "No… this is not real…"
[22:36] Murska: Then the song changes into the one Aegnor made about the group, which she sang along with in the forest, what feels so long ago.
[22:36] Happy: Hope sings along with him, her voice pure and beautiful.
[22:36] Shadowcaller: Tears are coming from her eyes, "No…"
[22:37] Shadowcaller: "Why do I remember all these things?"
[22:38] Shadowcaller: "…who am I?"
[22:39] Murska: /You are Cessie… never forget that./ The voice is filled with caring.
[22:40] Shadowcaller: "Aegnor? No… that can't…"
[22:40] Happy: The nymphs come out of the water. Hope smiles at them.
[22:40] Shadowcaller: "Aegnor… whats going on?"
[22:41] Murska: Aegnor smiles to her, continuing the music without saying anything.
[22:42] Shadowcaller: "I'm not sure these memories are real or not, but… she don't exist."
[22:43] Murska: /Isn't it nice… so peaceful… after all the battles we had to fight. We finally got our wish./
[22:44] Shadowcaller: More tears are coming from her eyes "But I don't remmeber that… why don't I remember that?"
[22:45] Shadowcaller: /remember
[22:46] Murska: Aegnor walks to her, the music somehow playing itself once again. 'We have all the time in the world…'
[22:49] Shadowcaller: She runs forward to Aegnor and hugs him, her eyes still moist "Can you please tell me whats going on?"
[22:50] Murska: Aegnor hugs her tightly. 'It's the future we're fighting for…' He gives her a gentle kiss…
[22:53] Shadowcaller: "But… future? You can't see into the future… what is this? Where am I exaclty?"
[22:56] Murska: Multiple voices answer her. /Inside./ /Where you want to./ /Future…/ Aegnor smiles at her. 'Maybe time is just relative…'
[22:57] Shadowcaller: "There is no magic that can see into the future… and a child?"
[22:58] Murska: 'Do you doubt we can make this happen?'
[22:59] Shadowcaller: "I'm not sure I'm ready for a child."
[23:00] Happy: Hope splashes in the water.
[23:00] Shadowcaller: "I never even imagined it…"
[23:01] Murska: Aegnor smiles at them both. 'The fact that she is here means you did… somewhere.'
[23:02] Shadowcaller: "But this… I'm dreaming."
[23:02] Murska: 'It is like a dream, isn't it?'
[23:03] Murska: 'Just look at her. She has the best of us both… my music, your magic…'
[23:03] Happy: Hope plays with the nymphs, splashing water at them, while they splash back, laughing.
[23:04] Shadowcaller: "Well… she have your mood at least."
[23:04] Murska: (I got to go sleep. >.>)
[23:04] Shadowcaller: (okay.)
[23:05] Murska: Aegnor holds her gently and smiles, his eyes looking into hers…
[23:05] Shadowcaller: Thought Cessie looks like she been throught a lot, she actually smiles brielfy
[23:06] Happy: Hope touches a nymph's outstretched hand
[23:07] Happy: It falls into the water. And rises back up as a zombie.
[23:08] Murska: Aegnor fades away…
And Cessie wakes up drenched with sweat, her heart pounding.
