Kyou 43

[17:06] Shadowcaller: Hm, we ended with them falling asleep
[17:06] Murska: So, morning
[17:06] Murska: Cessie wakes, Aegnor is asleep
[17:06] Murska: rare.
[17:08] Shadowcaller: Cessie don't want to wake up Aegnor, he needs to sleep, especially if he is this tired. She tries to as carefully as possible leave the hut without waking him up.
[17:08] Murska: She manages this. It seems it's actually very early for her to be awake.
[17:10] Shadowcaller: She feels quite awake right now, but figures that she will be relly tired later on and since hse already is up…
[17:10] Shadowcaller: She looks around the village
[17:10] Murska: The village is pretty quiet this early on, with just a few people going about their morning routines, mostly getting water. She won't see anyone that's important enough for us to have given him/her a name yet.
[17:12] Shadowcaller: Cessie waits for food to arrive (as it usually dose), she is planning to eat outside the hut today to not wake Aegnor up
[17:13] Shadowcaller: She uses a tiny bit of magic to cast a silence spell on the hut (one of the spells she learned from the book)
[17:13] Happy: (So I guess she didn't help Arik last night?)
[17:13] Shadowcaller: (Nope.)
[17:14] Murska: She has a while to think to herself, the food will arrive only later. Simone wakes up sometime between this point and food arrival.
[17:15] Happy: Simone goes outside with her book, and asks if it knows about Kyou's defenses.
[17:15] Murska: (Uh.)
[17:15] Murska: (am I supposed to RP the book?)
[17:16] Shadowcaller: (Make something up.)
[17:16] Happy: (Would the book even know?)
[17:16] Murska: (What is the book exactly?)
[17:16] Shadowcaller: (Its just stating information, not that hard.)
[17:16] Shadowcaller: (Its like a sapien library, only intrested in giving away information.))
[17:16] Shadowcaller: ((Going to eat now.))
[17:19] Murska: The book responds with an account of the wall of Kyou. Apparently it was built of stone brought via airships from a quarry somewhere else in the empire. It is rather sturdy, though nothing special, and it has a very traditionalist style without much suprises for an invader.
[17:20] Murska: Then it tells of the basic organization of the Empire's standardized city guard, which has sergeants, lieutenants and the Captain of the Guard for every city, along with a Marshal in the command of the Guard forces of the entire nation
[17:20] Murska: The city has ballista towers and catapults on the wall towers nearest to the sea, and the harbour has two stone towers fitted with two ballistas each
[17:21] Murska: The sea-side of the city isn't strongly defended otherwise, though, since the harbour area and magazines have spread over the intended city limits.
[17:23] Murska: Oh, and the gates hold no specialties, there are holes for burning oil in the gateway roof and such but the gate itself is straight and holds only a single 'door'.
[17:24] Happy: Simone will make notes of all of this to give to Aegnor later. (You can assume that sort of notification happens automatically if you want.)
[17:25] Murska: (we'll see if they RP today, if not let's assume it)
[17:25] Murska: (Also, I have no idea how floodgates work in medieval architecture. :()
[17:25] Murska: (reading up on them now…)
[17:30] Shadowcaller: (Back:)
[17:34] Shadowcaller: (Err… so nothing is happening to Cessie right now? She won't go somewhere until she get food.)
[17:35] Murska: (She'll get food, I was just waiting to see if Simone would arrive before the food.)
[17:36] Shadowcaller: (Okay.)
[17:36] Happy: Simone can arrive with the food, I guess.
[17:37] Murska: Also works. Cessie sees the village get busier as some time passes, more people waking up. Simone arrives with the food.
[17:37] Shadowcaller: "Good Morning Simone."
[17:38] Happy: "Good morning, Miss Cessie. Are you studying very hard?"
[17:41] Shadowcaller: Cessie smiles weakly, Simone can see that she is quite tired "Something like that yes, I think I might get a headace soon…"
[17:46] Happy: "At least eat a good breakfast," she says, filling her own plate.
[17:53] Shadowcaller: She rubs her eyes and then fills her own plate
[17:53] Happy: Simone eats quite a lot as usual. She's put on weight since being with the party, her face filling out and her elbows not quite so pointy.
[17:53] Shadowcaller: (Cessie is pretty much the same thought, no change for her^^)
[17:54] Murska: Aegnor walks out of the hut, fully equipped as usual. 'Morning.' He waves at them.
[17:54] Shadowcaller: Cessie waves back "Good Morning Aegnor" she tries to say as cheerfully as possible
[17:55] Happy: "Good morning, Mr Aegnor. I having stuff for you."
[17:55] Murska: 'Oh?' Aegnor helps himself to the food.
[17:56] Happy: "Kyou defenses." She indicates a roll of parchment next to her. "We going to run out of parchment soon though," she says sadly.
[17:56] Murska: Aegnor takes the roll and eyes through it quickly while eating. 'Hm. Thank you.'
[17:57] Shadowcaller: "I think Arik have more parchment's somewhere Simone."
[17:57] Shadowcaller: "I could ask him next time I met him."
[17:58] Happy: "Good. Seren not having very much, and I check around, and people gather up what they have. But it not much."
[17:59] Murska: 'If only that were the only thing we're running low on.' Aegnor smiles.
[17:59] Happy: Simone's notes are written on the back of an old letter.
[17:59] Shadowcaller: "What else are running out? Time?"
[18:00] Shadowcaller: *is running out
[18:00] Murska: 'You name it, we don't have it. Or don't have enough of it.'
[18:01] Happy: "Weapons. Food. Shoes. Bandages," Simone says. "Low on all of those."
[18:01] Murska: 'People. Morale. Lack of annoying screaming in my head. Firepower. Training.'
[18:02] Happy: Simone's face falls a little at the mention of the screaming. "Poor spirits."
[18:02] Shadowcaller: "Sounds like we are going to war or something… and I had quite enough of that for my life time."
[18:02] Shadowcaller: Cessie sigh
[18:03] Murska: 'Yeah…' Aegnor finishes up eating. 'Me too, Cessie. But a war it is, and a war we'll have to win.'
[18:04] Happy: *pokes SC to other window*
[18:04] Shadowcaller: She finishes her portion "What exactly are you planning Aegnor?"
[18:05] Murska: 'Nothing that specific yet, what with the horrendous lack of pretty much everything including information.'
[18:06] Murska: 'Anyway, I should go show those recruits some tricks with Suroshian.' Aegnor flashes a smile. 'Later.'
[18:07] Shadowcaller: "Farwell." Cessie sulks down again
[18:08] Shadowcaller: "Everyone is busy, always busy. We haven't rested since we were at the Zeepelin…" She leans toward the hut
[18:08] Shadowcaller: Trying to relax
[18:09] Murska: Aegnor gets up, looks at Cessie for a moment and then walks towards the small field they had picked for the training grounds yesterday.
[18:10] Happy: "Since Ai died," Simone says.
[18:11] Murska: (Aegnor will mostly be there to show that their leader takes part in what they do, and that he's capable of beating any one of them in a fight. Also to bash some basic rules into their heads. The classic 'drill sergeant' thing of 'Try to beat me.' introduction. If anyone wants to RP a small duel against him with any of the recruits, go ahead.)
[18:11] Shadowcaller: (I'm not good with that >.>)
[18:13] Happy: (nah, no dueling for me either)
[18:13] Murska: ('kay)
[18:14] Shadowcaller: (I mean, its not even going to be a established character.)
[18:14] Shadowcaller: (Unless Aegnor want to duel with Cessie.)
[18:15] Murska: (Nah. He'll just beat up recruits a bit.)
[18:15] Shadowcaller: (Well, they are going to face wizards after all.)
[18:16] Murska: (Then he'll talk to them, reminding them of the task and teaching basic things for a moment. He'll leave it to Suroshian to make them feel like it's him against them in the training.
[18:16] Murska: (That is, Suroshian the evil drill sergeant vs. the trainees)
[18:17] Shadowcaller: (Also, Happy might remind you that Suroshian entered the spirit realm for about 300 years ago.)
[18:18] Happy: (The role of the drill sergeant is pretty much the same throughout history)
[18:18] Shadowcaller: Cessie don't respond, she just look down in her plate
[18:18] Shadowcaller: (Not my point, I just thought Murska should know.)
[18:19] Murska: (yeah, k)
[18:26] Shadowcaller: "Simone, what are you going to do today?" She finally says
[18:35] Happy: "Keep studying, and trying to find out more information for Mr Aegnor."
[18:36] Shadowcaller: Cessie shudders a bit "I won't do much today, I'm quite finished with that book for now. I know enough necromancy as it is…"
[18:39] Shadowcaller: "I don't think I will do anything today…"
[18:39] Happy: "What spells did you learn?"

Session Start (moc.evil|eltrutyppah-anit#moc.evil|eltrutyppah-anit:Group Conversation 9136): Tue May 26 18:42:43 2009
[18:42] Shadowcaller: (So…)
[18:42] Murska: (Which one is this?)
[18:43] Shadowcaller: (This is the Cessie/Simone chat)
[18:43] Murska: (gimme history? :P)
[18:44] Shadowcaller: Happy säger:
"Keep studying, and trying to find out more information for Mr Aegnor."
Shadowcaller säger:
Cessie shudders a bit "I won't do much today, I'm quite finished with that book for now. I know enough necromancy as it is…"
"I don't think I will do anything today…"
Happy säger:
"What spells did you learn?"

[18:45] Shadowcaller: "Well… its better if I explain *what* the spells do." She sits up again "Its a bit complicated after all."
[18:45] Happy: Simone is very attentive.
[18:47] Happy: (BTW, did Aegnor tell her about myrtle being useful? She could always ask the book about it)
[18:47] Murska: (Not yet, he didn't)
[18:48] Shadowcaller: "Basically, necromancy is very much about life energy and souls."
[18:48] Shadowcaller: "I can for example "burrow" energy from you, or let you get some of mine."
[18:48] Shadowcaller: Cessie explains very scholary
[18:52] Shadowcaller: "Raising the dead is however not necromancy in a magical sense strangely enough. Its just seen as necromancy since draining life energy and souls is seen just as bad as it."
[18:53] Happy: "Then how to they get alive?"
[18:55] Shadowcaller: "They don't get alive Simone, you can't create life energy after all. You simply animate them with normal magic. Their minds are but a extension of their masters will, mindless creatures."
[18:55] Happy: "But they have some sort of energy moving them."
[18:56] Shadowcaller: "Yes, thats the magical energy, its a enchantment of sort."
[18:56] Shadowcaller: "They drain the magical energy around them to move around."
[18:57] Happy: "Do it make other wizards weaker then?"
[18:58] Shadowcaller: "No, since there are such amounts of magic everywhere around us that its not really noticed. The hard part is to be able to use all that magic."
[18:58] Happy: She looks disappointed at that answer. "Is there being any way to drain magic from area and stop wizards?"
[18:58] Murska: (Technically you can create life energy. Just not WITH life energy, as is Magic, but with Nature, by having offspring. :P)
[18:59] Shadowcaller: (Well, not with magic.)
[19:00] Shadowcaller: "There are magic spells that can do just that, but they are very hard to cast i'm afraid."
[19:00] Shadowcaller: "Yeah… not much help am I?"
[19:07] Shadowcaller: Cessie looks quietly at the sky for a while "Maybe I should go to bed again?" She says, mostly to herself
[19:08] Happy: "But what spells can /you/ cast?"
[19:08] Shadowcaller: "You mean necromancy or overall? I never told you that didn't I?"
[19:09] Shadowcaller: She turns toward Simone again
[19:09] Happy: "Both."
[19:10] Shadowcaller: "The names were on another language, but I named them myself, after effect of course."
[19:14] Shadowcaller: "Fly, hold person, fireball, invisibility, summon water, drain life, silence, telepathy, mind probe, raise dead, speak with dead, ward, summon air-elemental, dispel magic, give life, soul drain…"
[19:15] Shadowcaller: "Yeah, thats all of them…"
[19:18] Happy: "Give life?"
[19:18] Shadowcaller: "Yes, you basically burrow someone else your life energy."
[19:19] Happy: "Like you do for Helena?"
[19:20] Shadowcaller: "Yes, like I did for Helena… I don't remember much after I casted that spell thought."
[19:20] Happy: "And you have spells of drain life and drain soul. How they different?"
[19:22] Shadowcaller: "Quite different, life energy is the moment, the body's energy. When you die, your life energy joins the circle of magic. Your soul is memories, personality and such. It can linger after death but eventually join the circle too."
[19:23] Shadowcaller: "Draning a soul would make a creature mindless, while draining life energy would make them unable to move at all."
[19:23] Shadowcaller: "Both of them have their uses, depending on what you are fighting."
[19:30] Happy: "But they not work on witchars, right? Do they work on other wizards?"
[19:31] Shadowcaller: "They don't work on witchars, but I guess they would work on other wizards if you get close enough."
[19:33] Happy: "You be invisible and silenced, then you get close enough to do soul drain. Maybe. Or maybe they detect you somehow. Very risky."
[19:34] Shadowcaller: "Yes… thats why Arik want the undead instead, as distractions."
[19:35] Happy: "But villagers say no."
[19:36] Shadowcaller: "No, Arik said that Gilraen agreed on that."
[19:37] Happy: Simone's eyes go wide. "Ooh, that not what I hear."
[19:38] Shadowcaller: "There must be some missunderstanding surely. He was about to raise the undead last night."
[19:40] Happy: "I know Gilraen talk to elders, both Wolfen and elf, and they all say no."
[19:42] Shadowcaller: "Are you really sure about that Simone?"
[19:43] Happy: "Yes."
[19:45] Shadowcaller: It looks like Cessie goes silent for a while, but Simone can hear her mutter "Damn him…" under her breath.
[19:46] Shadowcaller: "I need to go…" She stands up, "I need to talk to someone."
[19:46] Happy: Simone doesn't say anything.
[19:48] Shadowcaller: Cessie leaves
[19:48] Happy: (interlude?)
[19:48] Shadowcaller: Or rather, storms off
