Kyou 17

[03:50] Murska: 'We need some way to find them… and then, Yuki-Joro is the only one I really have something against.'
[23:31] Wolfbane: "How do we find her then? It seems that she comes to us most of the time."
[23:32] Happy: Promise would have been able to tell that Hope was not in the best of moods when he arrived, but she so soon ran off and immersed herself in the music that she had long since returned to her normally cheerful self.
[23:33] Murska: 'I don't know. But maybe the other speaker would know something.'
[23:33] Wolfbane: (Yeah, he danced with her a lot to help cheer her up)
[23:34] Happy: Hope doesn't say anything, not liking the mention of the other speaker reminding her of her argument with Cessie.
[23:34] Wolfbane: Promise nods. "If she wakes up and if she isn't hostile."
[23:36] Murska: 'Yeah.' Aegnor has been looking around, slightly disappointed to not see Cessie.
[23:40] Happy: Hope stands on tiptoes and whispers in Promise's ear "Did you know you dance just like you fight?" Only without knowing it, she's said it in Wolfen.

[23:46] Wolfbane: Promise smiles. "I hope you mean that in a good way." He says joking in wolfen automatically since that was the language he was spoken to with.
[23:47] Happy: Hope nuzzles him. "Indeed." /Wolfen
[23:47] Murska: 'Um…'
[23:48] Wolfbane: Promise puts an arm around Hope and looks at Aegnor. "What's wrong?" /common
[23:49] Murska: 'Did Hope just speak Wolfen?'
[23:49] Happy: "I only know a few words in Wolfen." /Commo
[23:50] Murska: 'Ah. Never heard you use it before.'
[23:51] Happy: "I wasn't."
[23:51] Wolfbane: Promise nuzzles Hope and gives her a gentle squeeze. "You surprise me everyday."
[23:51] Wolfbane: /Common for Aegnor's benefit
[23:52] Murska: 'In any case, I guess we'll stay here at least until the other speaker recovers.'
[23:52] Happy: Hope is now thoroughly confused. "What do you mean?" she asks Promise.
[23:55] Wolfbane: "There is always something new to learn about you. And I love that."
[23:57] Happy: She gives him a puzzled look, but doesn't say anything else.
[23:58] Wolfbane: He raises an eyebrow. "Did I say something wrong?"
[23:59] Happy: "Of course not. I suppose we should check up on the Speaker. "
[00:02] Wolfbane: (I guess they go to the hut now)
[00:03] Shadowcaller: Cessie is sitting close to the speaker, watching her sleeping, she looks a bit tired herself actually
[00:04] Shadowcaller: She nods as they enter, but remains silent
[00:04] Happy: Hope stays near the door.
[00:07] Murska: Aegnor appears a bit confused about the atmosphere. He sits down on one of the mats.
[00:08] Wolfbane: Promise notices and stays near Hope. "How is she doing?"

Shadowcaller sanoo:
"Good, its nothing wrong with her, she appears to be at the peak of health, just sleeping."

[00:14] Happy: "Then why not wake her?"
[00:14] Shadowcaller: "I have no objections against it…"
[00:15] Wolfbane: "Want me to try to?"
[00:17] Shadowcaller: Cessie shrugs "If you like."
[00:18] Murska: Aegnor reaches for the knife but remembers it's not there anymore. He stands up regardless.
[00:18] Wolfbane: Promise gives Hope one last squeeze before going over to the girl. He shakes her gently.
[00:20] Shadowcaller: She appears to be falling out of the coma-like state she were in, she groans, but still appear not have awoken yet
[00:21] Happy: /Kill her kill her kill her kill her/ Hope tries to ignore the refrain in her mind.
[00:21] Wolfbane: Promise shakes her a little harder. "Can you wake up?"
[00:22] Shadowcaller: Suddnenly her eyes are wide open, she screams
[00:22] Wolfbane: Promise falls back a bit in surprise.
[00:22] Shadowcaller: "Getawaygetawaygetaway!"
[00:23] Happy: Hope shifts subtly into a combat stance by instinct, but makes no move towards the girl or a weapon.
[00:23] Wolfbane: "Its okay. You're safe."
[00:23] Shadowcaller: She crawls into the end of the hut, shaking
[00:23] Shadowcaller: As far from you as possible
[00:24] Murska: Aegnor steps beside Promise, but doesn't approach any further.
[00:25] Shadowcaller: She looks terrified, she reminds Aegnor a bit of the fear part of Cessie
[00:25] Happy: (what language was she screaming in?)
[00:25] Shadowcaller: (elven.)
[00:25] Wolfbane: Promise remains low to the ground and keeps his paws in the open. "It is okay. You are safe. Calm down."
[00:26] Murska: Aegnor looks at the others and reaches for his Kazoo.
[00:26] Shadowcaller: Her gaze is constantly shifting as she expects as a attack can come from any direction at any given moment
[00:27] Shadowcaller: *-as
[00:28] Murska: Aegnor starts playing a calming tune, quietly, like to a wild animal. He adds magic to it, although not unsafe amounts.
[00:29] Shadowcaller: The girl still covers in fear, but appears to be a bit calmer, her breathing becomes slower
[00:30] Shadowcaller: "Where am I?" She finally asks in elven
[00:31] Murska: 'You're in Gallion, and safe, for now.' (If that was the village's name. Darn my poor memory.)
[00:31] Murska: (Writing insanowar post, might be slow.)
[00:32] Shadowcaller: "Who are you? Where is Reorn?"
[00:35] Murska: 'I'm Aegnor. And Reorn is gone.'
[00:40] Shadowcaller: "Gone? How do you mean gone?" She looks utterly bewildered
[00:42] Happy: "He's dead," Hope says flatly.
[00:42] Shadowcaller: (still elven.)
[00:42] Happy: (n/m then)
[00:43] Murska: 'He was killed.'
[00:45] Shadowcaller: "/Where/ is he?" She replies, apperently not beliving a word you say
[00:46] Murska: 'As I just said, dead. I do not presume to know where dead gods go.'
[00:48] Shadowcaller: She goes silent for a moment, blinking a few times before tears starts to fall down her cheeks
[00:49] Shadowcaller: She blanks
[00:50] Murska: Aegnor reaches into the spirit world, trying to intercept or at least hear what she does. 'Stop.'
[00:50] Murska: (Cessie would probably understand that.9
[00:50] Wolfbane: (Promise would recognize the blanking, right?)
[00:51] Wolfbane: (Hasn't he seen Aegnor do it?)
[00:51] Shadowcaller: There are no words, just a endless stream of sorrow, as Aegnor tries to intercept it, he feels himself become affected by it
[00:52] Murska: (Aegnor only blanked when he was talking to three spirits at once.)
[00:52] Wolfbane: (Oh)
[00:52] Murska: He pulls back, shaking his head.
[00:53] Shadowcaller: Cessie: "Whats going on?"
[00:54] Murska: 'She's grieving for Reorn.'
[00:54] Murska: (common)
[00:54] Shadowcaller: "Poor girl…"
[00:54] Happy: Hope feels no sympathy.
[00:55] Shadowcaller: /You are the other speaker?/ Aegnor can suddenly hear in his head
[00:55] Wolfbane: Promise stands and gives Hope an apologetic look.
[00:56] Murska: /Depends on which one you mean./
[00:57] Shadowcaller: /…I don't actually need to blank anymore, I just did it to let the emotions go./
[00:57] Happy: "She grieves for Reorn. I grieve for Ai," Hope says quietly in Wolfen.
[00:58] Murska: /I can understand that./
[00:58] Shadowcaller: /Its a very effective way of controlling your emotions…/
[00:58] Shadowcaller: /The spirits mourn him to../
[00:59] Murska: /I haven't needed it for that. I learned to control my emotions long before learning to blank./
[00:59] Shadowcaller: /You never learn to control your emotions, don't let you fool yourself./(
[01:00] Murska: /Controlling them enough to stay functional was what I meant./
[01:01] Shadowcaller: /Really? Your kami tells a different story…/
[01:01] Wolfbane: Promise nods sadly. "We all grieve for Ai." (Wolfen)
[01:01] Shadowcaller: /But tell me, other speaker, how did he die?/
[01:02] Happy: "I spoke to Nega earlier. His soul is safe, at least." /Wolfen
[01:03] Murska: /Iname and Helena intervened in his, admittedly rather insane, plan of creating a Legion. He wouldn't stand down./
[01:03] Wolfbane: Promise smiles sadly and gives Hope a hug. "That is great news." /Wolfen
[01:04] Shadowcaller: /He wasn't insane… his plan was fully logical, he was most likely less insane then you and me due us being speakers./
[01:04] Shadowcaller: /Sadly wanting to kill people, don't make you insane…/
[01:06] Murska: /Well, that depends on his motivations. But if he was working for the best of the people of this village, it was insane./
[01:07] Shadowcaller: /You don't see the whole picture the way he did… but it dosen't matter now, its over./
[01:08] Happy: (Grr… Hope would have a few things to say if she were in on this conversation)
[01:08] Shadowcaller: /its finally over…/
[01:08] Wolfbane: (Same with Promise)
[01:13] Murska: /…I have something to ask./
[01:14] Shadowcaller: /Go ahead, I'm all ears, or thoughts rather./
[01:15] Murska: /Was it you who ordered the attacks on us?/
[01:16] Shadowcaller: /I did what Reorn told me to do./
[01:16] Wolfbane: (She is lucky Promise or Hope can't hear that)
[01:16] Shadowcaller: /If you are asking about Yuki-Jiro, then I can't answer that question./
[01:17] Murska: /And why is that?/
[01:18] Shadowcaller: /She can hardly be controlled at all./
[01:18] Murska: /We'll put her down then./
[01:19] Shadowcaller: /I won't mourn her…/
[01:19] Murska: (SC: Sent you my insanowar draft.)
[01:20] Murska: (I don't like the lack of Orky conversations in my recent posts though. :/)
[01:20] Murska: /Do you know how to track her?/
[01:21] Shadowcaller: /No, she lashes out at random, she don't trust anyone, least of all me, I think she was planning to kill me too eventually, luckely, I'm protected…/
[01:22] Murska: /How are you protected?/
[01:23] Happy: Simone comes skipping in. "Oh, she waking up?"
[01:23] Shadowcaller: /My Shigamu, can't you see it?/
[01:24] Murska: /No./
[01:25] Shadowcaller: /Well, its protecting me, keeping me safe from harm… so what happends now then? I'm still suprised you managed to convince Iname to join your cuase./
[01:28] Murska: /Well, at first we were just visiting Kyou on personal business and Iname even told me to seek you out… You might have noticed I'm quite an amateur as a spirit speaker, but then we were attacked. We retaliated and finished what we came here for. Now, we haven't decided what exactly to do next, except for killing Yuki-Joro./
[01:30] Shadowcaller: /Reorn cuased his own fall sadly, he thought another speaker would be able to turn away to souls from his gasp… if they hadn't attacked you, the legion would be out there right now, and all of you would have been dead…/
[01:31] Happy: (Not Aegnor though)
[01:31] Happy: (Hmmm… Aegnor alive and Cessie dead… I'm thinking he wouldn't have needed Iname's help to kill Reorn after that)
[01:32] Shadowcaller: (rage don't help you against gods sadly.)
[01:32] Shadowcaller: (You still die from a arrow, no matter how justified your rage is…)
[01:33] Murska: (Heh. Aegnor's rage isn't 'mad attack' type, but more 'pure instinctual will to kill any opposition' type. He'd be rather cunning, probably gathering the help of everything he can before attacking.)
[01:34] Shadowcaller: (and why would Aegnor survive?)
[01:34] Murska: (He isn't a human?)
[01:34] Shadowcaller: (right, but then Promise would not have died either would he?)
[01:35] Murska: /Oh well, bad luck on his part I guess./
[01:35] Happy: (yeah. Promise and Aegnor working together to avenge their mates? Reorn wouldn't have stood a chance.)
[01:36] Shadowcaller: (…he is still a god, stop thinking there is some universal justice here.)
[01:36] Wolfbane: (Especially with the mask)
[01:37] Shadowcaller: (That you would not have in that case.)
[01:37] Wolfbane: (True)
[01:37] Murska: (Yeah, we're the PCs and he's just a god.)
[01:37] Murska: (Thus, we're much stronger.)
[01:37] Shadowcaller: (Sure, if you called some powerful spirits perhaps…)
[01:38] Happy: (Aegnor's a bard. Of course he would win. The law of stories demands that he be able to achieve his vengeance.)
[01:39] Wolfbane: (And Promise wouldn't have healed Zubera so he would ask her for all the power at her disposal)
[01:39] Shadowcaller: (In a game with dices, PC's dies as easy as monsters…)
[01:40] Shadowcaller: /I'm conflicted about the outcome, but I guess it was for the best…/
[01:41] Happy: (Good thing there's no dice then ^^)
[01:41] Murska: /So, what do you plan on doing now?/
[01:41] Shadowcaller: (Don't tempt the game make you realize your mortality…)
[01:42] Murska: (Well, technically since I'm the one who wrote up the structure of the world, the flow of life-force and other such minor details, I'd just have to find a loophole to allow Aegnor to resurrect himself. :P)
[01:42] Shadowcaller: /Nothing as such, stay here until the slavers return I guess…/
[01:43] Shadowcaller: (Note: Dm in free-form: can ignore all rules.)
[01:43] Murska: /I don't think anyone should live here. It doesn't seem to me like such a great place to live./
[01:43] Murska: (Lucky then that I have at least eight unused DM turns)
[01:43] Happy: (only 8?)
[01:44] Murska: (at least)
[01:44] Shadowcaller: /The spirits are strong here… thats why I like it here./
[01:44] Happy: "Aegnor, what's going on?" Hope says.
[01:45] Shadowcaller: /I can't imagine living anywhere else./
[01:45] Murska: 'We're discussing of things.' /Well, I guess you can handle yourself, even if alone./
[01:45] Murska: (*-of)
[01:46] Shadowcaller: /I will… just try to keep them away from me okay? I don't want them to be harmed…/
[01:46] Happy: "Can't you discuss it out loud?"
[01:47] Shadowcaller: (in elven?)
[01:47] Murska: 'In elven?'
[01:47] Wolfbane: (She spoke common when I first met her, didn't she?)
[01:48] Shadowcaller: (she know a few words.)
[01:48] Happy: "She probably speaks one of the local languages, doesn't she? Or you could translate. We all need to know what's going on, don't we?"
[01:48] Murska: /I might be able to keep them away. Kuori will not be pleased, though. You've been marked as prey./
[01:50] Shadowcaller: /Patetic risen one, if he really wants to kill me, he should do it himself, not sending some human girl to do it for him./
[01:51] Murska: /It's a hunt. I don't think he cares about you./
[01:53] Shadowcaller: /Neither do I, but then he just shows that he don't really care about the haunt either."
[01:53] Shadowcaller: *hunt
[01:55] Murska: /You don't really know much about him, do you… Well, I can't say I'm an expert either. In any case, I guess there's nothing much to talk about anymore?/
[01:56] Murska: 'She'd want to stay here, with the spirits. She also says that she didn't control Yuki-Joro.' /common
[01:57] Happy: "And what about all the other people who were murdered to make the Legion?"
[01:57] Happy: "She had nothing to do with it?" *skeptical tone*
[01:57] Murska: 'She claims she did what Reorn told her to.' Aegnor is keeping a neutral tone.
[01:58] Happy: "Knowingly?
[01:59] Murska: 'I'd assume so. She doesn't seem like oblivious of it.' /The others want to know if you knowingly worked towards creating the Legion./
[02:00] Shadowcaller: /I was not aware of it until the final part of the plan… that would have been my "sacrifice"./
[02:01] Shadowcaller: /I would have died with its birth./
[02:01] Murska: /So you knew what exactly?/
[02:02] Shadowcaller: /I knew that Reorn needed me to control a lot of souls for something, I bound so many to me that I collapsed, rest have been a haze./
[02:03] Murska: 'Right, she claims that she only knew Reorn needed a lot of souls.'
[02:04] Happy: "She knew he needed souls? Where did she think the souls were coming from?" Hope demanded.
[02:06] Murska: Aegnor translates Hope's question.
[02:08] Shadowcaller: /The souls were always there, countless of them, we needed the gate to channel them thought, or so I was told, but to get acess to the gate, we needed the spirits to coperate../
[02:09] Murska: Aegnor translates this, putting it to the form of 'There always were countless souls here, but she was told they needed the gate to channel them, and to get access to the gate they needed their cooperation.'
[02:10] Murska: (Hmm. What's with this place and countless souls not going where they're supposed to go…)
[02:10] Murska: (post'd insanowar)
[02:12] Happy: "Even if there were lost souls here, that didn't give her the right to use them like objects."
[02:12] Happy: (Cessie saying anything?)
[02:12] Murska: (Or Promise)
[02:13] Murska: /She's arguing that even if there were souls here, you shouldn't have used them like objects./ Aegnor is still keeping a strictly neutral facade.
[02:14] Shadowcaller: /I simply did what he told me to do, most of the spirits wanted this anyway, they wanted vengence…/
[02:15] Murska: (Let's just assume Aegnor translates the arguments in a less confrontative way.)
[02:15] Shadowcaller: Cessie remains quiet, she have nothing to argue with
[02:15] Happy: "Did she have free will or not?"
[02:17] Wolfbane: "Yes. Did she want to do it? Would she still do it?"
[02:17] Murska: (still translating)
[02:18] Murska: (I'll go eat dinner, brb)
[02:19] Shadowcaller: /I didn't know everything, while I may have made misstakes, thats something I have to deal with, I don't care about their opinion of me./
[02:19] Murska: Aegnor translates this as is.
[02:20] Wolfbane: "Right now, I would say that our opinion matters very much." He tries to say this calmly.
[02:20] Happy: "If she expects to be left with her freedom instead of taken back to Kyou to stand trial, then she should care about what we think."
[02:24] Shadowcaller: /Ask them what they want to hear? What am I supposed to say? I know few things about the mortal world./
[02:29] Wolfbane: "Did you know anything about the murders?"
[02:29] Happy: "What did you tell the spirits to do?"
[02:31] Shadowcaller: /Ask her to specify the spirits, I talk to a lot of them after all, and also, I issued simpel orders to the spirits, but they most of the jobs themselves./
[02:31] Happy: "What did you tell them the spirits to do with the souls."
[02:33] Shadowcaller: /The spirits did nothing with the souls of what I'm aware./
[02:33] Murska: (eaten)
[02:34] Wolfbane: Promise waits for his answer.
[02:35] Shadowcaller: (she already answered that.)
[02:35] Wolfbane: (Must have missed it)
[02:35] Wolfbane: (let me check)
[02:35] Murska: (And Aegnor'd probably have told him her earlier comment about not controlling Yuki-Joro)
[02:35] Wolfbane: (true)
[02:35] Shadowcaller: (I issued simple orders..)
[02:36] Wolfbane: "Would you do this again if given the chance?" He watches her carefully.
[02:38] Shadowcaller: /Ask him who would say "yes" to that question?/
[02:39] Wolfbane: "Most likely more people than I would like to think about. But you still haven't answered."
[02:40] Shadowcaller: /Look, anyone would have guessed that you are highly against it, do you really think anyone would have told you that they enjoy killing things or that they love see people suffer? Sounds really stupid to me./
[02:42] Shadowcaller: /I'm trying to tell the truth, but many would lie to such extrem question./
[02:42] Murska: Aegnor examines her while the conversation is going on.
[02:43] Shadowcaller: She holds a completly neutral face, she is blanked after all
[02:46] Happy: "Could you feel them screaming as they were bound into a monster that was made to kill?" Hope asks coldly.
[02:47] Shadowcaller: /Tell her I was passed out, and that those elven and wolfen souls already wanted to takr part in it,/
[02:47] Shadowcaller: *take
[02:49] Happy: "Were you passed out on <insert date of Ai's death>?"
[02:50] Shadowcaller: /I bound too many souls to myself at once, I assume they where lead the rest of the way automatically./
[02:51] Shadowcaller: /And the legion was far away from me anyway./
[02:52] Wolfbane: "That is all good to know, but how long were you passed out? A day, two?"
[02:53] Happy: "And when did you learn what Reorn meant to do?"
[02:53] Shadowcaller: /You tell me? You are the ones that have been watching me./
[02:53] Wolfbane: "We mean before we met you in the cabin."
[02:54] Shadowcaller: /II have still no idea, I didn't starve to death, so it can't have been that long… could I get some fooed by the way?/
[02:54] Shadowcaller: *food
[02:54] Happy: "Today is <insert date>. When were you last aware of things?"
[02:55] Wolfbane: (There is still food in the hut, right?)
[02:55] Shadowcaller: /Tell her I don't know the human calender… and that I was told about the legion by you when you awoken me./
[02:56] Shadowcaller: (in the cabin./
[02:56] Shadowcaller: */
[02:58] Wolfbane: Promise gestures to the food. "There is already some food here."
[02:59] Shadowcaller: (no idea.)
[02:59] Shadowcaller: /I need to unblank…/
[02:59] Shadowcaller: She unblanks
[03:01] Shadowcaller: Grabs some still watching Promise and Hope carefully and then starts to eat, she appears to have been close to starvation
[03:03] Happy: "That's interesting. Because we didn't tell you anything. You were unconscious."
[03:03] Happy: "Unless Aegnor told you mentally."
[03:03] Murska: 'How exactly did you learn of the Legion and Reorn's plan in the cabin, then?'
[03:03] Murska: /elven
[03:03] Shadowcaller: "The wolfen wake me up adn told me didn't he?"
[03:04] Shadowcaller: "He told me about countless lives lost… Its hazyt—"
[03:04] Shadowcaller: *hazy
[03:04] Shadowcaller: *and
[03:04] Wolfbane: "Yes, I said that thousands of lives would be lost, but I never said how."
[03:04] Murska: Aegnor is a bit sceptical, although still keeps his facade.
[03:06] Shadowcaller: "Pieces of the puzzle, I realized it later."
[03:07] Shadowcaller: She looks begging at Aegnor "Can I go to sleep now?"
[03:08] Murska: 'I'm sorry but we better decide on what to do with you before that.'
[03:09] Shadowcaller: "Then make your verdict, I don't care about the outcome."
[03:10] Happy: "I'd like to hear what Cessie has to say."
[03:11] Shadowcaller: Cessie: "I have nothing to add…"
[03:11] Shadowcaller: "I don't think I can make a impartial verdict, I'm personally affected."
[03:11] Murska: 'So are we all.'
[03:12] Shadowcaller: "A neutral judge should decide her fate."'
[03:12] Murska: 'And where do you suppose we find one like that?'
[03:13] Shadowcaller: "A spirit? A god?"
[03:13] Wolfbane: Promise thinks. "There is one other way, but I don't think any of you would like it even though it will make things much easier."
[03:13] Happy: "What god? Zubera? Helena? Nega? Kuori? They are all personally involved as well."
[03:14] Shadowcaller: "Artaris or Norhold…"
[03:14] Shadowcaller: "I doubt Artaris would answer thought."
[03:14] Wolfbane: Promise takes his mask out of his pouch. "I could use this."
[03:15] Shadowcaller: "I don't know about that.."
[03:15] Wolfbane: "I don't want to, but if you all want me to…"
[03:16] Wolfbane: "It would be the easiest way."
[03:17] Shadowcaller: "I don't want you to at least."
[03:17] Happy: "What do you mean? How would you use it?"
[03:17] Shadowcaller: "He wants to become her…"
[03:17] Wolfbane: "No."
[03:17] Wolfbane: "A psychic maybe."
[03:19] Shadowcaller: "I don't know… I could use mind probe, but I think her mind is protected."
[03:21] Happy: Hope looks away from the mask. "There is still a circle. Let me try to call Artaris first."
[03:22] Wolfbane: ( brb)
[03:23] Shadowcaller: "Do so…"
[03:25] Happy: Hope steps in front of the circle. "Artaris, I am Happy, who fought with your servant Kilia in her last battle. I wish to speak with you."
[03:28] Shadowcaller: A flash and a being much like Kilia and Rillian stands before you, but he is black rather then grey or white
[03:28] Shadowcaller: "Greetings, I am Khen, Artaris can not attend personally, but if you like I can speak for him." He makes a complicated gesture
[03:30] Happy: "Are you able to judge someone who may have committed a crime?"
[03:31] Shadowcaller: "Of course I am, its one of my many duties after all."
[03:33] Happy: "The elven woman is a spirit speaker who may have assisted in the creation of a Legion. What information do you need to judge her case?"
[03:35] Shadowcaller: "A legion? Thats a strong accusation, if she indeed are guilty there will be a harsh punishment, would you like me to deliver that too?"
[03:37] Happy: Hope looks to Cessie. "You know more about Artaris than I do. Would you consider a punishment delivered through his servant appropriate?"
[03:37] Shadowcaller: Cessie looks briefly at Khen, "Yes, I would."
[03:38] Happy: "Then we accept your offer."
[03:39] Shadowcaller: "Very well, what are the proof then? Do you like to order up as a defender and a accuser?"
[03:40] Happy: "I don't know what you mean by that."
[03:41] Shadowcaller: "One who tries to make the verdict "guilty" and one who tries to make the verdict "innocent".
[03:42] Murska: 'Do we even have anyone here except for herself who could serve as a defender?'
[03:43] Happy: "That is different than the way things were handled in the tribes. Everyone who had witness to bear, spoke what they knew. It was up to the grandmothers to discuss and decide the verdict."
[03:43] Shadowcaller: "Someone must be willing I hope." Khen looks around
[03:43] Happy: (that is, an inquisitorial system rather than an adversarial justice system)
[03:44] Wolfbane: brb, but Promise sighs. "I have given her the benefit of the doubt for now, I guess I can do so a little longer
[03:44] Wolfbane: "
[03:44] Shadowcaller: "I see, well, both the accuser and the defender may use any other person they like as proof."
[03:49] Happy: "Must there be an accuser?"
[03:50] Shadowcaller: "Well, I will make the final verdict, if I only hear the defenders arguments.."
[03:51] Happy: "If I spoke as accuser, would I need knowledge of your laws? I never lived in lands governed by Artaris."
[03:52] Shadowcaller: "Not by such, the only thing you are not allowed to do is to physically injure anyone or lie."
[03:53] Shadowcaller: "There are other things however such as I will rule against if I see fit."
[03:53] Shadowcaller: "You can try your way forward if you wish."
[03:54] Happy: "Cessie? Should I?"
[03:55] Shadowcaller: Cessie look doubtful "I'm not sure why you are asking me Hope, you need to decide that yourself."
[03:56] Happy: "You might not think it fair to her to be accused by someone who follows a bloodthirsty god." Hope says in a neutral tone.
[03:56] Wolfbane: (back)
[03:57] Shadowcaller: "Your goal is to make the verdict to be "guilty" I don't see what god you worship have to do with that."
[03:58] Happy: "How do we begin?"
[03:59] Shadowcaller: "Any time you need, you will take turns that will last as long as you want or if I rule otherwise."
[04:00] Happy: "Who begins?"
[04:00] Shadowcaller: "The one who takes the intiative first."
[04:00] Wolfbane: (gah, brb)
[04:02] Happy: "Then I suppose if I begin at when we first learned there was something trapping souls, then I am the first witness."
[04:02] Shadowcaller: "The victim may speak."
[04:03] Shadowcaller: *witness
[04:04] Happy: "We were travelling with a Servant of Nega named Ai. The first night we arrived in Kyou, he took leave of me and my mate saying that he felt a presence he wanted to investigate. Later that night, I was awakened by Kuori's voice in my mind telling me that one of my loved ones was in danger.
[04:05] Murska: (My time is running low…)
[04:05] Happy: When I arrived at Ai's room, he was gone. His room was coated in ice and a spirit was there. Kuori told me that Ai was gone and his soul was trapped."
[04:06] Happy: (um, okay, she'll get Aegnor to talk about the other speaker, then say Arik told them what a Legion was, then say what they found when they arrived at the village.)
[04:08] Happy: "She claims she was doing only what she was told, without knowing that a Legion was being created. But she seems to know much more about it than she ought if she were an innocent duped. Nor has she given any reason for us to believe that she was controlled or compelled in any way. She seems to have acted on her own free will, whether or not her knowledge was complete."
[04:11] Shadowcaller: "All this will be taken into memory."
[04:11] Shadowcaller: "May I ask if you are done then?"
[04:12] Happy: (Oh, she'd have also had Simone relate the speech she heard)
[04:12] Shadowcaller: (What speech?)
[04:13] Happy: (The speech that Nia gave about the history of elf/human/wolfen relations and what they intended to do with the Legion.)
[04:14] Shadowcaller: okay
[04:15] Happy: Hope looks at the party around her. "Does anyone else have anything to add?" (mostly addressed to Cessie and Aegnor)
[04:15] Shadowcaller: khen looks suprisingly neutral efter hearing her Simone re-tell Nia's speach
[04:16] Shadowcaller: *-her
[04:16] Shadowcaller: "That will make her guilty? Not really."
[04:17] Murska: (Who was that?)
[04:17] Happy: (the elven priest of Reorn)
[04:17] Murska: (No, who was the one who said SC's last comment)
[04:18] Shadowcaller: (Cessie.)
[04:18] Murska: Aegnor has listened silently thus far. 'Nothing to add, it is a truthful recollection of the events.'
[04:20] Shadowcaller: Are you done then accuser?"
[04:20] Happy: "I am."
[04:21] Shadowcaller: "Defender, yourn turn."
[04:21] Shadowcaller: Äyour
[04:23] Wolfbane: ( Give me a few minutes to look over things and sorry for any delay since I am busy too)
[04:23] Happy: (buy time by having her speak for herself first?)
[04:24] Wolfbane: "If you would let me, I would like the person in question speak for herself in the time being."
[04:31] Wolfbane: (SC?)

[16:37] Shadowcaller: "That would be acceptable, is the accused willing to speak in her own defence?"
[16:38] Happy: (all it ever does to me is make me silly. and then sleepy. So, no change, really, except that I shouldn't drive.)
[16:38] Shadowcaller: (Who should? >.>)
[16:39] Wolfbane: (Well, I haven't drank much at all)
[16:39] Shadowcaller: Allyria don't appear that suprised of the sudden apperance of Khen but don't appear to understand him.
[16:40] Wolfbane: (Does Aegnor translate?)
[16:40] Shadowcaller: Or even know he is talking to her
[16:40] Murska: (I guess)
[16:40] Happy: (bwahaha! you must attend a trial for your life without understanding your accusers!)
[16:41] Shadowcaller: (You must tell the narrator you do:P)
[16:41] Shadowcaller: (And Heppy, don't be mean)
[16:41] Shadowcaller: *Happy
[16:42] Happy: (I was the narrator, and I thought he did say it somewhere)
[16:42] Shadowcaller: (Well right now, I can't change the narration I did.)
[16:43] Shadowcaller: (Or rather, the character reaction.)
[16:43] Shadowcaller: (Really, Wolfbane and Murska need to play more characters.)
[16:43] Happy: (YOu can't change what you just wrotea bout Allyria? )
[16:44] Shadowcaller: (Nope, lets say Aegnor forgot a second >.>)
[16:45] Murska: (well fine)
[16:46] Shadowcaller: (Translate now?
)
[16:46] Murska: (I'm doing that all along. Don't want to repeat everything that's said.)
[16:47] Shadowcaller: (Okay lets you did translate it right after her reaction then.)
[16:47] Happy: (yes, he definitely said he was translating all along)
[16:48] Shadowcaller: "I am willing I guess, but what am I supposed to say?" /elven
[16:48] Murska: 'You're supposed to say anything you can think of that would make the verdict 'innocent' without lying.'
[16:50] Shadowcaller: Allyria appears quite unfamiliar with interactions outside the spirit world, her voice is without that confident you heard when you communicated by the spirits
[16:51] Shadowcaller: "I understand…"
[16:51] Shadowcaller: Khen: "A warning, if you agree on this, you will find yourself unable to lie, as the defender and the accuser."
[16:52] Murska: (brb, I have an urge to play GH3 for a while. Aegnor'll translate.)
[16:52] Happy: (Hope was under a truth spell?)
[16:53] Shadowcaller: (Yes, since you accepted the agreement.)
[16:53] Happy: (Good thing she didn't then, since you didn't mention it :P)
[16:53] Shadowcaller: (You didn't accept the agreement?)
[16:54] Happy: (Didn't lie)
[16:54] Shadowcaller: (Thats what I assumed.)
[16:54] Shadowcaller: Allyria looks shocked for a second but then quietly nods in agreement.
[16:55] Shadowcaller: Khen: "Very well, begin."
[16:56] Shadowcaller: Allyria looks nervous, not really sure how to begin.
[16:57] Shadowcaller: "Um… I didn't like what Reorn did."
[16:58] Shadowcaller: "He was nice to me, I liked him as a person, but he asked me of all these strange things…"
[16:59] Shadowcaller: "I was not stupid, I suspected that he was doing something wrong, but what was I supposed to do? Refuse to aid a god?"
[17:00] Wolfbane: "Were you the only one who followed him?"
[17:00] Shadowcaller: "No, I was not, the whole village did, he just concentrated on me more."
[17:01] Wolfbane: "Would you say that the people here were easily swayed by him?"
[17:01] Shadowcaller: "Yes, I would when Venil came back with that orb of his…"
[17:02] Shadowcaller: "The whole village was suddenly devouted to him."
[17:02] Wolfbane: Promise nods. "Was there anyone here who would have turned away from him after that point?"
[17:03] Shadowcaller: "No one ever did, we had never had anything like he was before."
[17:03] Shadowcaller: "We had only heard about gods in stories."
[17:05] Wolfbane: "You can continue your story."
[17:06] Shadowcaller: "Okay… I really liked Reorn as I said, he was very charming and such power he had… I had never even seen a spirit with so much power before."
[17:09] Shadowcaller: "Rerorn did many good things to the village, or so I was told. He created farmlands were nothing had grown before, he set up guards against the slavers and their wolfen, he protected us from the hostile spirits."
[17:10] Shadowcaller: "And all he wanted in return was our devoution to his cuase… I could not refuse him that."
[17:11] Shadowcaller: She looks at Aegnor and then at Promise "I- I don't know what else to say?"
[17:12] Murska: Now that she's incapable of lying, her story convinces Aegnor more.
[17:17] Happy: (gah, why do people keep phoning me?)
[17:17] Shadowcaller: (As long as its when you are not in the spot-light)
[17:17] Wolfbane: "You told us that you did not know that he was building a Legion, was that true?"
[17:19] Shadowcaller: "Well…" She looks doubtful "The spirits told me some about it, but I didn't know it was that dangerous."
[17:21] Shadowcaller: "I know it was a Legion, but the spirits didn't seem to see it as that dangerous."
[17:21] Shadowcaller: *knew
[17:24] Wolfbane: "Did you know what a Legion was or what it did?"
[17:26] Shadowcaller: "I knew it was a concentration of lost souls, it was some kind of weapon Reorn was planning to use for something… now that you mentione it, he stopped me one time he was going to the village."
[17:27] Shadowcaller: "The others knew didn't they?"
[17:27] Wolfbane: "Stopped you from what?"
[17:28] Shadowcaller: "Going to the village as I said, I don't usually do that, I prefere to be alone, but I wanted to see all the things he had done for the village."
[17:32] Wolfbane: Promise decides to take a slight gamble. "Had you known what a Legion is, would you have still helped Reorn?"
[17:34] Shadowcaller: "If you told me the truth, that it killed millions of people, millions of their kami… then no."
[17:43] Wolfbane: "Thank you. I think that will be all." He turns to Khen(?). "As you can see, she had very little knowledge about what the Legion was or what it did and if she had known, she would have taken no part in it's creation. This also shows that Reorn manipulated her and this entire village and given that he was a god, likely the first to have come, who said that he would aid them, it would have been
[17:43] Wolfbane: easy for him."
[17:44] Shadowcaller: (Yeah you got his name right.)
[17:44] Murska: (KHAAAAN!)
[17:45] Wolfbane: (:P)
[17:45] Murska: (Now if only Aegnor wasn't neutral in this issue. :P)
[17:46] Shadowcaller: Khen "This we will put into the memory, are you done then defender?"
[17:47] Wolfbane: "I believe so."
[17:47] Happy: "May I ask Allyria a question?"
[17:47] Shadowcaller: He turns to Hope "Of course, ask ahead."
[17:49] Happy: "Did you tell the spirits to kill people?"
[17:52] Shadowcaller: Khen interrupts Allyria befoe she can answer:"May I remind you accuser that this trial is not about her creatng a legion. Murder would be a separted case, unless this have something to do with the creation?"
[17:53] Happy: "It does. The souls of the murdered were used to make the Legion."
[17:53] Shadowcaller: *creation
[17:55] Shadowcaller: Cessie whispering to Promise: "I need to say something, could you call me up later?"
[17:56] Shadowcaller: Khen: "Very well, the accused must then answer your question."
[17:57] Wolfbane: Promise whispers back. "When I get the chance."
[18:00] Shadowcaller: Allyria sigh and then then ever so slowly waits until she finally says: "I did, but I was told that they were a threat to the village, that they were slavers or worse… I belived him."
[18:01] Shadowcaller: "And Yuki-Jiro killed many more people then I commanded her to."
[18:03] Shadowcaller: "..the Amanojaku also did, I only commanded a few of them actually."
[18:03] Shadowcaller: (brb.)
[18:15] Happy: pokes hcat to keep alive
[18:18] Shadowcaller: (back.)
[18:19] Shadowcaller: "I did this before Reorn, I commanded the spirits to look for and kill agents for the slavers, I was the one protecting this village, I was one of the reasons it kept existing."
[18:20] Shadowcaller: "…I hope thats a good enough answer?"
[18:21] Happy: "If it's the truth, then it's good enough." Hope says.
[18:22] Happy: "That doesn't mean it was right. That isn't for me to decide."
[18:24] Wolfbane: "If Hope is finished, Cessie has something to say if she is allowed to."
[18:24] Shadowcaller: Cessie: "I do, and I accept the agreement."
[18:25] Shadowcaller: Khen: "Very well, speak then witness."
[18:26] Shadowcaller: Cessie: "While I hope that Allyria will be judged for the murder, I very much doubt that these murders were done for the creation of the legion. A legion needs a enormous amount of souls to create, these few murders would be drops in a ocean."
[18:26] Shadowcaller: *murders
[18:27] Shadowcaller: "Therefore, they must have been done for something else…" She pauses
[18:27] Shadowcaller: "Um… and thats all I had to say."
[18:28] Happy: "Ai's soul was incorporated into the Legion," Hope says.
[18:28] Murska: (So, it comes to the age-old debate of the weight of intent, then?)
[18:29] Shadowcaller: "…yes, but he is free now. However, that can't have been the main cuase of the murders in my opinion. As I said, drops in the ocean."
[18:30] Happy: Hope is confused at why the matters need to be considered separately. If someone was accused of multiple crimes in the tribes, they would all be considered in the same hearing.
[18:32] Shadowcaller: (The main reason they do this is cuase the other accusations should have no effect on the one in the trial.)
[18:33] Happy: (yeah, that's a more advanced legal sytem than an illiterate barbarian would be aware of)
[18:34] Shadowcaller: "Have anyone any more questions to me? Or can I go now?"
[18:35] Shadowcaller: Khen: "Do the defender or the accuser have any more questions to this witness?"
[18:35] Happy: "I have no more questions."
[18:35] Wolfbane: "I do not."
[18:36] Shadowcaller: "Then the witness may leave…"
[18:36] Happy: (Oh, that was Cessie)
[18:36] Happy: (I thought it was Allyria asking to go)
[18:37] Shadowcaller: (no, it was Cessie.)
[18:37] Shadowcaller: (Would you like to ask Cessie anything? We can change that.)
[18:42] Shadowcaller: *pokes*
[18:43] Happy: "No questions."
[18:44] Shadowcaller: "Very well, have any of you anything to add? Any other witnesses?"
[18:45] Happy: "No."
[18:46] Shadowcaller: "The defender?"
[18:50] Wolfbane: (sorry, was afk for a moment or 15)
[18:50] Wolfbane: "I do not."
[18:51] Shadowcaller: "Then the judge will take a moment to decide the verdict with the juru."
[18:51] Shadowcaller: Khen blanks out
[18:52] Murska: (And we'll see how my guess goes.)
[18:52] Shadowcaller: (Whats your guess?
)
[18:52] Murska: (I can't say yet, so I can claim victory in whichever case. :P)
[18:52] Happy: (you could tell me or wolf in another window)
[18:53] Murska: (That'd still defeat the purpose of not telling it to anyone so I can claim I was right whatever happens.)
[18:53] Happy: (Then we'll just claim you were wrong whatever happens)
[18:53] Murska: (Oh well.)
[18:54] Wolfbane: (I say $5 on Divine intervention!)
[18:54] Murska: (I'm totally calling Khen's blanking the 'brb, tossing a coin'-break.)
[18:55] Murska: (Heads, innocent)
[18:55] Murska: (Tails, guilty)
[18:55] Shadowcaller: (Actually Cessie could tell you that he is asking the "juru" that consists of a random number of recently deceased villagers.)
[18:56] Murska: (Yeah right. He's tossing a coin and you know it.)
[18:56] Shadowcaller: (No that would be against the law.)
[18:56] Shadowcaller: (:P)
[18:56] Happy: (it's against the law to toss coins? Don't drop your money pouch!)
[18:56] Murska: (Hey, that's such a boring law. I'd rewrite it asap.)
[18:57] Shadowcaller: (If he didn't ask the juru and instead tossing a coin he would not follow the law, thus breaking it.)
[18:57] Murska: (Well ask the jury and then toss a coin to decide.)
[18:59] Shadowcaller: (True, but you called the fact that he asked a juru.)
[19:00] Shadowcaller: Khen unblanks "The juru has reached a verdict."

Session Start (moc.evil|eltrutyppah-anit#moc.evil|eltrutyppah-anit:Group Conversation 18814): Thu Apr 30 19:03:41 2009
[19:03] *** moc.liamtoh|iretnas_omis#moc.liamtoh|iretnas_omis (Aegnor) has joined the conversation.
[19:05] Happy: ok
[19:05] Shadowcaller: "This spirit speaker has aided the god Reorn in creating a legion without fully understand its functions or its purpous. She was this god's main tool for the creation, without her he would have no success."
[19:07] Murska: (I dropped?)
[19:07] Shadowcaller: "The juru have taken in account the seriousness of the crime, if the legion had been created many people would have died and the speaker would have perhaps unwillingly been the tool of this destruction."
[19:07] Shadowcaller: (You did.)
[19:11] Shadowcaller: "However, while the crime is indeed serious, the lack of distinctive knowledge of the thing she created and various other facts have made the juru decide against the full punishment that would come with the guilty sentance, therefore the juru's final verdict is: non-guilty."
[19:11] Murska: (Knew it. :P)
[19:11] Wolfbane: (I sense a /but/ coming.)
[19:12] Murska: (ayup)
[19:13] Happy: Hope lowers her head, fighting for control of her prey sense.
[19:14] Shadowcaller: "Of course, when taking accounted of the other crimes that the speaker have commited, namely murder of a number of not-yet named inviduals the juru feels that such crimes must be taken into a separate chair."
[19:15] Wolfbane: Promise puts a paw on Hope's shoulder to try and reassure her.
[19:16] Shadowcaller: "Therefore, the judge have decided that the invdual known as "Allyria" will until further notice will be taken into the Divina, where she will wait for such a trail lead by the high judges of the Divina."
[19:17] Shadowcaller: "I trust this will be accepted?"
[19:18] Happy: (Who is he asking?)
[19:18] Shadowcaller: (everyone.)
[19:18] Shadowcaller: (Except Allyria.)
[19:18] Happy: "I don't know what the Divina is."
[19:19] Murska: Aegnor meets her eyes as he translates this to elven. 'Good luck.' He adds to the end.
[19:19] Wolfbane: "Neither do I."
[19:21] Shadowcaller: Cessie: "The Divina is sort of a prision dimension of Artaris servants and himself of course, in Hestopia almost all criminals are sent up there, we hardly need real prisons anymore."
[19:21] Shadowcaller: *prison
[19:21] Happy: "Could Kuori's servants find her there?"
[19:22] Shadowcaller: "What do you mean by that exactly?"
[19:23] Happy: "Kuori has named Allyria as prey."
[19:24] Shadowcaller: "So? If she is judged in the Divina she will be punished, but it won't be death as appears to be the only puishment you have."
[19:24] Shadowcaller: *judged guilty
[19:25] Murska: 'Well, I accept the verdict.'
[19:25] Shadowcaller: *punnishment
[19:25] Happy: Hope looks surprised. "Death is not a possible punishment for murder?"
[19:25] Wolfbane: "I suppose I have no objections."
[19:26] Shadowcaller: "They don't have that type of punishment, the harshest one is ethernal imprisonment, well unless the murder is reformed that is…"
[19:27] Murska: To Aegnor, eternal imprisonment is a much worse punishment than death.
[19:27] Murska: He doesn't say anything, though.
[19:28] Happy: "The ways of your god are strange to me. But I accept your decision."
[19:29] Shadowcaller: "Then Allyria, step into the circle…"
[19:29] Shadowcaller: Allyria don't appear to want that, she glances at Aegnor for support
[19:29] Shadowcaller: And then at Promise
[19:29] Murska: 'I'm sorry.'
[19:31] Wolfbane: Promise nods. "Go ahead. It is the best option you have."
[19:31] Murska: (Hmm. It'd be pretty weird to translate that. )
[19:32] Shadowcaller: "Will I be able to talk to the spirits there?"
[19:32] Murska: Aegnor translates this question to Khen.
[19:33] Shadowcaller: "She would, but I doubt they would have the power to manifest there, with the distance from the gate and the fact of Artaris absolute power there."
[19:35] Shadowcaller: Allyria looks doubtful, "Would Helena protect the village?"
[19:35] Shadowcaller: "Would you?"
[19:36] Murska: 'She would. I would, as long as I stay.'
[19:36] Shadowcaller: She looks at you and slowly nods, then she steps into the cricle
[19:37] Shadowcaller: The next moment both she and Khen are gone
[19:37] Murska: Aegnor sighs. 'Next, the matter of tracking down and disposing of Yuki-Joro.'
[19:38] Shadowcaller: "That was satisfying at least…"
[19:38] Shadowcaller: "Now if Arik only could contact me."
[19:39] Shadowcaller: "Whats happening outside anyway?"
[19:41] Happy: "I'd better have my sword back now," Hope says quietly to Promise.
[19:43] Wolfbane: He chuckles and hands Hope back her sword "Of course."
[19:44] Shadowcaller: Cessie looks at Hope as she is handed the sword "Won't the prey sense consume you now?"
[19:46] Happy: "I guess we'll find out."
[19:46] Happy: (What is her sense telling her now?)
[19:47] Shadowcaller: (She can sense her, but not any type of distance, just that she is alive somewhere.)
[19:49] Shadowcaller: Cessie takes a long look at Hope and then says "Yes, I guess we will…"
[19:51] Happy: "I did this for you." Hope says in a cool tone to Cessie.
[19:55] Shadowcaller: "I-" Cessie stops herself, "Nevermind, we should not talk about this Hope." She turns to Aegnor instead, as a sign that the conversation is ended "Whats going on outside?"
[19:55] Shadowcaller: (She would have said this: "I didn't make you accept that prey sense, but I guess I should be thankful that you didn't outright kill her."^^)
