Exodus 42

[17:51] Happy: So fast forward to the meeting now?
[17:51] Shadowcaller: (Sure.)
[17:52] Happy: So: Hope, Promise, Aegnor, Cessie, Simone, and Michicora?
[17:52] Shadowcaller: And Seren?
[17:53] Shadowcaller: Saranna?
[17:53] Shadowcaller: Your choice, thought I suppose Promise would be suprised to see Saranna…
[17:54] Happy: Seren is bound to the village though. He won't be going with the party when they leave.
[17:54] Wolfbane: He'd raise an eyebrow, but would ask about it later after introducing himself
[17:54] Shadowcaller: (True.)
[17:54] Shadowcaller: (Just Saranna then?)
[17:54] Happy: Unless Cessie asked Seren to be there. Then just Saranna.
[17:55] Shadowcaller: I guess she might…
[17:55] Shadowcaller: So, where are they?
[17:55] Shadowcaller: Simone have called upon all of them right?
[17:57] Happy: I guess the use one of the larger tents.
[17:57] Happy: Yes, Simone gathered them all. Let's say Seren is there.
[17:59] Shadowcaller: Simone makes a circle or something?
[17:59] Happy: Assuming Cessie gives her the powder.
[17:59] Shadowcaller: She will of course
[18:00] Happy: Simone makes the circle.
[18:00] Happy: "We're here, Helios."
[18:01] Shadowcaller: Shadow bursts into the circle as you can hear Helios cold voice once again "Perfect!"
[18:03] Shadowcaller: This time a red line bent as a mouth along with two triangle-like red pupil-less appears in the shadows
[18:03] Shadowcaller: *pupil-less eyes
[18:03] Shadowcaller: The eyes look around at the crowd
[18:04] Shadowcaller: "So… you are still after the worm, correct?"
[18:04] Murska: 'Yes.'
[18:04] Happy: "Yes." Simone says firmly.
[18:05] Wolfbane: Promise nods.
[18:06] Shadowcaller: "Ah, well ever since the gate opened again and the worm became known among the gods, rumors have circelated all over of its whereabouts."
[18:07] Shadowcaller: "In the Alahnian gardens, Turif, Quen, Salasia… Hestopia. Nosworth Pagans underpants…" The line forms into a smile
[18:08] Shadowcaller: "But, there are also some likely locations where the worm actually may have escaped."
[18:09] Shadowcaller: "There is a cult in the city of Nogh Dos that I have learned may have connections to the worm."
[18:11] Shadowcaller: "Before, it was devouted to similar dieties, but one of my agents have now informed me that the words "Whispering Worm" and "legion" have been mentioned. Shortly after that, I lost all contact with him."
[18:12] Shadowcaller: "I'm sending agents all over the world and if you are intrested in worm hunting, I would like to suggest that as the place where you would like to go."
[18:13] Shadowcaller: "Intrested?" The eyes seems to focus at you one at the time
[18:14] Happy: brb
[18:14] Murska: 'Maybe at some point.'
[18:15] Wolfbane: "I think it would have to depend on how far away this place was."
[18:15] Shadowcaller: "I can give you direction if you wish, its not that far actually…"
[18:16] Shadowcaller: *directions
[18:16] Shadowcaller: Cessie: "Nogh Dos…?" She says quietly
[18:17] Murska: 'I guess we might check it out if we have time.'
[18:18] Happy: (back)
[18:19] Shadowcaller: "Yes… especially since its basically Cessie's home, am I right, or am I right?" The eyes focuses on Cessie
[18:19] Shadowcaller: She stares back "Yes, so what?"
[18:20] Shadowcaller: The line forms into a smile once again "Just thought you be intrested… last time I checked, you didn't like this type of life very much."
[18:21] Murska: Aegnor keeps an expressionless face. 'Right, so, what do we need to know if we go?'
[18:24] Shadowcaller: The eyes focuses on Promise this time "Terra port, a place you should be familiar with. It's some days travel from here. From there you take the boat to Aux Dys, and from there you easily can get to Nogh Dos."
[18:25] Wolfbane: "Will we have to be disguised?"
[18:27] Shadowcaller: "I don't think they would care in either cities, as long as you don't keep that high profile that is. In Nogh Dos they just love Wolfen."
[18:27] Happy: Hope hisses.
[18:27] Happy: when Helios names Terra port.
[18:27] Murska: 'Hm, we'll keep that in mind. Anything else?'
[18:29] Happy: Hope is thinking of ways to raze Terra Port on the way to Aux Dys.
[18:29] Shadowcaller: "I suppose I should translate the names… Nogh Dos is called "Worlds End" in common and Aux Dys "New Dys". But maybe you look for something more of the dangers in the area huh?"
[18:30] Wolfbane: Promise puts a paw on Hope's hand and squeezes. He's thinking of ways to crack open the prison fortress.
[18:30] Wolfbane: <.<
[18:31] Murska: Aegnor doesn't show what he's thinking, but the others should notice that he attempts to give out the impression that they don't really care about the mission that much, to see whether Helios cares about their participation or not.
[18:32] Murska: 'You probably know what we would need to know better than we do.'
[18:34] Shadowcaller: "I suppose… there have been a number of ships dissapearing the last fewweeks, ever since the gate opened."
[18:35] Shadowcaller: "But really, if you want to know something, just ask me, I provide all the hunters with updated information about whats going on."
[18:35] Happy: "Without price?" Simone asks.
[18:35] Shadowcaller: "Yes… its in my intrest to kill the worm is it not?"
[18:36] Murska: 'We can't know what to ask yet, of course. Well, we'll keep that offer in mind in case we head that way.'
[18:36] Happy: "And this erase Promise and Aegnor's debt to you?"
[18:37] Shadowcaller: "Of course not… hunting the worm is a choice you will make. I have other agents in the area, but you will be a addition of course."
[18:38] Murska: (I say we wait until all the other agents die and he comes begging for help. :P)
[18:38] Murska: 'Right. So, if that was all?'
[18:38] Happy: "And your other agents work for you for free?" Simone asks, in clear skepticism.
[18:40] Shadowcaller: "I have my shades… and other servants. There are long running deals here you understand."
[18:40] Happy: "Exactly. Deals."
[18:41] Murska: 'Well, he's confident enough in his own agents since we're just an addition, and it's a dangerous journey… I doubt we'll be needed.'
[18:42] Shadowcaller: "Deals made long before this… eternal deals. But yes, I can't force you to come can I?"
[18:44] Murska: (Aegnor is wondering why Helios used up an apparently /very/ valuable orb to transport Promise a few days' journey)
[18:44] Wolfbane: "I'm not saying yes or no, but I have to ask. Are there others who are more capable than us at killing these things?"
[18:44] Shadowcaller: (Well, he lied about the distance, it will all be clear later…)
[18:46] Shadowcaller: "…no one is capable of killing a Legion. Haven't I already told you that only a legion can kill a legion? There are ways to weaken them of course… but I have my ways."
[18:46] Murska: 'Okay, thanks for the information and I wish you luck in worm-hunting.'
[18:48] Shadowcaller: "Hm, leaving so soon are we? I thought the images in your head you make you a pretty moticated wormhunter Aegnor…"
[18:48] Shadowcaller: "You mother… poor soul…"
[18:48] Shadowcaller: *motivated
[18:49] Murska: He, if possible, shows even less emotion.
[18:51] Shadowcaller: The red line forms into a smile again "The worm indirectly killed your family, your fosterparents… everyone you ever cared about." The eyes turn to Simone "And you… it took everything away."
[18:53] Murska: 'Luckily, it still left us both with common sense.' A cold smile, before he returns to the expressionless stare.
[18:55] Wolfbane: (What is Hope doing?)
[18:56] Shadowcaller: "Yes… before it starts to consume people around New Dys of course." The eyes turn to Cessie "Did you know Narisa and Dell is living in New Dys Cessie?"
[18:56] Shadowcaller: She turns bleak
[18:57] Happy: /You do better when you stick to deal making rather than emotional abuse./ Simone says to Helios.
[18:57] Murska: Aegnor glances at her. 'Well, we have other obligations. I trust your agents will handle the problem swiftly.'
[18:58] Shadowcaller: /Shhh… I'm making a free deal here, nothing in return…/
[18:58] Happy: /Don't think so. You want this done, you pay a fair price./
[18:58] Shadowcaller: "Possibly… I just figured she wanted to see her brother one and his wife one last time before things start to happend around there."
[18:59] Shadowcaller: /We will see… my agents can't even work freely with this stupid crusade Kuori and Norhold have started./
[19:00] Wolfbane: Promise sighs and rests his head on Hope's shoulder. "I'm not entirely sure we have a choice or not." he whispers to her in Wolfen.
[19:00] Murska: 'Well, we're quite busy people. I guess you'll tell us once the problem is taken care of?'
[19:00] Happy: /And how if I tell them that?/
[19:01] Shadowcaller: "No… I won't actually, but I guess you will notice if the worm starts to consume more citys or not."
[19:02] Murska: 'Okay. Bye.'
[19:02] Shadowcaller: /Be my guest Simone…/
[19:02] Murska: Aegnor stands up.
[19:03] Shadowcaller: "Farwell, see you soon…"
[19:03] Shadowcaller: The shadows fade away
[19:05] Shadowcaller: Cessie is still a bit pale, despite her sunburned face.
[19:06] Murska: Aegnor looks quite concerned.
[19:06] Murska: (sleepy…)
[19:07] Happy: "Helios say his agents can't work openly because of crusade against him."
[19:09] Shadowcaller: Michicora snarls "They deserve to be hunted."
[19:10] Murska: 'True enough. I guess that's one of the reasons he would want us to go there.'
[19:10] Shadowcaller: "They serve… that" She points at the circle and stomps the powder in the floor, breaking the circle
[19:11] Happy: "I'm one of his agents," Simone says cooly.
[19:12] Wolfbane: "Just remember, there are always at least two sides to a story and the unexpected can happen. We can only do what we can think is best at the time."
[19:12] Murska: 'He seems to really want us to go, he would know attempting to use emotional pressure would cause us to resent him even more.'
[19:12] Wolfbane: "Like my story." he says to Michicora.
[19:12] Wolfbane: (He isn't saying that in a mean or derogitory way)
[19:12] Murska: 'Odd, though… If the port is just a few days' travel away, why would he use an extremely valuable artifact to transport you here.
[19:14] Murska: 'He obviously expects the favour to exceed the value of the artifact.'
[19:14] Wolfbane: "My guess is probably for the favor or the artifact has more than one use and didn't say."
[19:14] Shadowcaller: Michicora ignores Simone and continues her rant "Everything he touches becomes tainted… he corrupts this world as surely as the worm dose."
[19:14] Wolfbane: "Possibly. But the worm is the most immediate threat."
[19:15] Murska: Aegnor ignores her. 'Anyway. The village is important. We have multiple ways to attempt to send messages to anyone near the worm *glances at Cessie* and we lack the means to actually do anything there anyway.'
[19:17] Shadowcaller: Cessie seems to have recovered somewhat, she don't look as pale as she did "I don't want to be manipulated by him… but… it feels I need to do something.
[19:18] Shadowcaller: "
[19:19] Murska: 'Helios wants the thing gone and he knows exactly whether we'll be needed in it or not. If we are, he'll eventually have to give in and ask us to go, if we aren't then it's just a needless risk.'
[19:20] Wolfbane: Promise has his own opinion, but stays quiet.
[19:20] Happy: Hope looks at Cessie with concern.
[19:21] Shadowcaller: "But if he dosen't? I just don't want to stand here…"
[19:21] Happy: "Then contact your brother."
[19:22] Shadowcaller: "And tell him what? That he will be comsumed by a mindless horror? I haven't spoken to Dell in two years…"
[19:24] Murska: 'Warn him, tell him to get out of there. It's all we could do even if we were there.'
[19:24] Wolfbane: ("Run! Happy is going to evicerate you!")
[19:24] Wolfbane: =P
[19:24] Murska: (You implying she's mindless? Bah.)
[19:25] Wolfbane: (True, forgot that)
[19:25] Shadowcaller: "…I don't know Aegnor."
[19:26] Shadowcaller: "Remember how we planned to travel there? It seems do distant now…"
[19:26] Wolfbane: "If he doesn't believe us, /then/ we should go." He looks at Cessie. "I know that if I had any other family left, I'd want to help them."
[19:27] Murska: 'I have the feeling this trip wouldn't be much of a holiday.'
[19:27] Murska: (If he doesn't believe us, then he's too dumb to live)
[19:28] Murska: 'I will need to warn Allyria about this aswell, if she doesn't already know.'
[19:28] Happy: "Another thing," Simone says. "He can tell you the situation in his city better than Helios can."
[19:28] Wolfbane: "Cessie, in your own opinion, do you honestly think he could get him and his family out of there without help?" he asks.
[19:28] Shadowcaller: (Really? His long lost sister that got banished for practicing Necromancy suddenly makes mental contact with him telling him to leave his home for some horror that may, or may not be there?)
[19:29] Happy: (wouldn't he have heard about Isandwana by now?)
[19:29] Shadowcaller: "I don't know anything about Dell's family Promise, just that his wife Narisa is a wizard like me."
[19:30] Shadowcaller: "Heck, I don't even know her last name."
[19:30] Happy: Simoen: "If she is a wizard, then she understand what a Legion is, at least."
[19:31] Murska: (Not to mention, if a PC warns you about a threat, ESPECIALLY if it sounds like something out of fairytales, G.T.F.O)
[19:31] Shadowcaller: "No… thats necromancy Simone."
[19:31] Happy: "You mean wizards not even taught how to recognize it?"
[19:32] Shadowcaller: "Not… really."
[19:32] Wolfbane: "Do you know if she has enough power in the city to warn people effectively?"
[19:32] Shadowcaller: "I know nothing of her abilities I'm afraid."
[19:33] Murska: (Bah, who cares about random citizens who aren't related. We'll need a distractive zombie mass army for the worm to control anyway.)
[19:33] Happy: Hope leans forward and takes Cessie's hand. "Cessie, whether we go or not, you need to talk to your brother sometime. Go ahead and do it now, and then we'll have more information to use when we make our decision."
[19:34] Murska: 'And if he doesn't believe us, can we not ask someone else, like, say, a god, to warn him for us?'
[19:35] Murska: (and now sleepy-tiems)
[19:35] Shadowcaller: "I'm not really supposed to… with the banishment and all…" She squeeze hopes hand back.
[19:35] Shadowcaller: (Night.)
[19:35] Murska: (will leaves compy on as usual in case I wake up in six or so hours again)
[19:35] Happy: "So what do you mean to do? Go to his city without speaking to him or contacting him? What can they do, banish you again?"
[19:35] Wolfbane: "Even if you are supposed to or not, do you think it is worth it to warn him?"
[19:35] Happy: (*hugs Murska gnight*)
[19:36] Murska: (*hugs*)
[19:36] Wolfbane: Night
[19:37] Shadowcaller: She sigh "I could try I guess… its a emergency after all."
[19:38] Shadowcaller: She seems to blank out a second "Thats… strange."
[19:40] Shadowcaller: "Some sort of barrier, I can't talk to him." She takes a deep breath, suddenly looking even more worried
[19:41] Wolfbane: Promise's ears twitch. "Do you know what it is coming from?"
[19:41] Wolfbane: "If not, try someone else you know from the city. If you can't reach them…"
[19:42] Shadowcaller: "I have never been there Promise, I only know Dell there."
[19:43] Happy: Simone /Helios? You know why there a barrier keeping Cessie from contacting Dell?/
[19:44] Shadowcaller: /Barrier? Oh… you would like to know that don't you? Well I can assure you it have nothing to do with the worm at least. Her brother might be safe… for now./
[19:46] Shadowcaller: /Really Simone, it won't matter what you do, the worm will soon enough stop laying low and consume the nearest town. I'm giving you all the information you need to stop it./
[19:47] Shadowcaller: /Why are you suddenly so afraid huh?/
[19:47] Shadowcaller: /Greed perhaps?/
[19:47] Happy: (Where did he get the idea she was afraid?)
[19:47] Shadowcaller: (I dunno, just a use of word possibly?)
[19:48] * Happy afraid? Of what?/ *scoffing tone*
[19:49] Shadowcaller: /What killed your home of course… to me it seems like you want something to kill the worm or your not going at all, is this correct?/
[19:50] Happy: /You have something that will kill it?/
[19:50] Shadowcaller: /…yes./
[19:52] Happy: /What is it?/
[19:52] Shadowcaller: /Remember the book you got for me?/
[19:52] Happy: /That you stole from me, yes./
[19:53] Shadowcaller: /I would not use the word "stole" but yes, that book. It contains something that will be able to deal with the worm./
[19:54] Happy: /How does it work?/
[19:56] Shadowcaller: /Its a legion, a stronger legion… the first legion. It can't be controlled, but it can be convinced to bless its owner with power that can kill the worm./
[19:57] Happy: /And what stop it from eating everything too?/
[19:57] Shadowcaller: /Its in the book, you don't actually need to release it to be blessed by its power./
[19:57] Shadowcaller: *trapped in the book
[19:58] Shadowcaller: /"Blessed" might be a poor choice of word however…/
[19:58] Happy: /Why would it do that?/
[20:00] Shadowcaller: /It's the most intelligent legion I have seen, it know it can't escape its prison so it takes whatever you can offer in trade for its power./
[20:00] Happy: /And what would it want?/
[20:01] Shadowcaller: /…what all legions want of course. Souls, life energy./
[20:01] Happy: /So someone have to die?/
[20:01] Happy: /And get absorbed into it?/
[20:02] Shadowcaller: /A small sacrifice to get rid of the worm is not?/
[20:02] Shadowcaller: *is it not
[20:02] Happy: /How many?/
[20:03] Shadowcaller: /That depends on how you deal with it I suppose…/
[20:03] Happy: /Maybe instead, we find another book and trap the worm/
[20:05] Shadowcaller: /You see Simone, the only way to trap a legion somewhere is to weaken it by a ritual. But… this ritual have already been used upon the worm and it… recovered, evolved. Its immune now…/
[20:06] Happy: /And you wizard gods can't invent a better ritual?/
[20:07] Shadowcaller: /Better ritual? There is no "better" ritual. Suddenly start to pretend you know things about magic Simone?/
[20:08] Shadowcaller: /Don't you think I already thought about all this?/
[20:08] Happy: /I hate the idea of feeding souls to a legion. /
[20:08] Happy: /And what you think Norhold or Kuori say when they find out?
[20:09] Shadowcaller: /Find out what? That I aid the killing of a creature that might consume us all?/
[20:10] Happy: /That you plan to sacrifice souls to a legion. Where you get these souls?/
[20:11] Shadowcaller: /I think I can make something up… once you find the worm that is./
[20:11] Shadowcaller: /Let me handle that./
[20:13] Happy: /No. I may be gutterscum, but I will never do something like that. /
[20:13] Happy: (huh. She *does* have morals. She surprised me there.)
[20:14] Wolfbane: (Simone isn't gutterscum! She is the party's rogue!)
[20:14] Shadowcaller: /Do what? Killing a evil creature that destroyed your entire town? If it feels better, you can sacrifice yourself for it./
[20:15] Happy: /*obsenity*/
[20:15] Shadowcaller: /…but that won't be needed, as I said. I have a solution that will put your moralic qualms to rest./
[20:15] Shadowcaller: /And that was a bit rude wasn't it?/
[20:16] Happy: /You didn't say you had a solution. You said you'd handle it./
[20:16] Shadowcaller: /I have a willing soul, is that good enough?/
[20:16] Happy: /… that's insane. Who would do that?/
[20:17] Shadowcaller: /A insane person maybe? I don't know honestly, all I know is that she's willing./
[20:17] Happy: (Allyria? O.o)
[20:18] Shadowcaller: (Its a bit more complex then that…)
[20:18] Shadowcaller: (Helios have great schemes…)
[20:18] Wolfbane: (The person who brought the worm to life?)
[20:18] Shadowcaller: (Hehe, you will see…
[20:20] Wolfbane: (If it is Zubera, Promise will kill Helios with his bare hands.)
[20:21] Happy: /Tell me what is causing the barrier./
[20:23] Shadowcaller: /Its a defensive barrier, made by the citys wizards./
[20:24] Happy: /Against the worm?/
[20:25] Shadowcaller: /No, against spies and such…/
[20:25] Happy: /Is there any way to get a message past it?
[20:26] Shadowcaller: /Not anything *you* can do./
[20:29] Happy: /But you can?/
[20:29] Shadowcaller: /Its possible./
[20:31] Shadowcaller: (might missed last message…)
[20:31] Happy: /What's the price?/
[20:32] Shadowcaller: /See… that would go against my intrests I'm afraid./
[20:33] Happy: /Making deals is against your insterests?/
[20:33] *** Aegnor has left the conversation.
[20:34] Shadowcaller: /No… but I don't think you have anything to offer me./
[20:35] Happy: /I think Cessie and Aegnor be more likely to go if they can talk to her brother first./
[20:35] Shadowcaller: /Really? How so?/
[20:37] Happy: /He on inside, can give them information. Maybe ask for help. But if she can't talk to him, she think maybe he dead./
[20:39] Shadowcaller: /Bah, if the shield holds, then the city hardly can be dead. People would notice if one of the largest cities in the world suddenly got consumed by the worm./
[20:40] Happy: /That don't mean people inside city can't die./
[20:41] Shadowcaller: /Why would he be dead? If she really want to find out, she can visit him. I don't exaclty understand why you *don't* want to go there./
[20:42] Happy: /Because you want them to. You train them very well that if you want something, it be bad for them. Now you reap consequence of that. /
[20:43] Wolfbane: (Hah! take that! :P)
[20:45] Shadowcaller: /Hm, so your telling me that if I… tell them that Nega would like them to go there too, they would not feel bad about it?/
[20:45] Shadowcaller: /This is very important Simone, you can't let your own fear hinder you./
[20:46] Happy: /I think if you take away strings you hold over Aegnor and Promise, then we all be on equal footing./
[20:46] Shadowcaller: /What strings?/
[20:47] Happy: /They both owe you favours. You want this done, so let this erase their debt. I know the rest of us will agree to go if you do that./
[20:47] Wolfbane: (O.o (Link: http://www.massively.com/2009/07/28/theres-a-er-twilight-mmo-coming/)http://www.massively.com/2009/07/28/theres-a-er-twilight-mmo-coming/ )
[20:47] Shadowcaller: /They will follow along eventually, they got a lot to lose if they don't…/
[20:48] Happy: /And what do you have to lose?/
[20:48] Shadowcaller: /Me? Not as much as you…/
[20:49] Happy: /And why you hang onto these strings so tightly?/
[20:51] Shadowcaller: /Well, first of all… I gave Promise a extremly valuable artifact in exhange for very little. Is that reason enough? Besides, you always seem to turn up where something special happends which in itself is a very useful ability to me./
[20:51] Happy: (it's almost as if the world revolves around us!)
[20:52] Shadowcaller: (Quite >.>)
[20:52] Happy: /Aegnor then. Release him./
[20:55] Shadowcaller: /Okay Simone, lets make a deal then if you so want. I will release both Serens and Aegnors debt to me and their life orbs in exchange for *your* debt aswell as that you go in the direction I want./
[20:56] Happy: (He want's Simone's life orb?)
[20:56] Shadowcaller: (debt.)
[20:57] Shadowcaller: /Seems fair enough dosen't it?/
[20:57] Shadowcaller: (He want that Simone own him again.)
[20:58] Happy: Simone would /love/ to own him >=]
[20:58] Wolfbane: =P
[20:58] Wolfbane: (I say take it! :)P
[20:58] Wolfbane: :P*
[20:59] Shadowcaller: (Bah, you know what he means…)
[20:59] Happy: /I put the deal to the party and get back to you./
[20:59] Happy: (yeah, funny how that 'you know what I mean' only works one way :P )
[21:00] Shadowcaller: (Well, he said "debt" in the deal, the rest is just me speaking ooc >.>)
[21:01] Happy: (Yes, yes, I know)
[21:01] Shadowcaller: /Very well… I'm waiting…/
[21:01] Happy: And I guess we stop here, since we need Murska
[21:02] Happy: But Simone will tell everyone what she learned from him. The only thing she leaves out is that the deal includes her being in debt to Helios again.
Happy says (11:27 AM):
Simone tells the party what she learned from Helios, and what deal he has offered, but leaves out that she will owe him a debt, because she doesn't want Aegnor to feel guilty.
Wolfbane says (11:27 AM):
(I have a class in about an hour and a half, but that should be enough to finish this part)
Happy says (11:29 AM):
Simone looks at Promise, though she seems a little uncomfortable with his appearance. "He not willing to release your debt."
Wolfbane says (11:30 AM):
Promise nods. "That is okay, I understand."
Aegnor says (11:32 AM):
(So what does she tell us?)
Happy says (11:35 AM):
Everything except that one detail. She tells them about the book and about the barrier that's keeping Cessie from communicating.
Aegnor says (11:38 AM):
(Hm. Now I have to actually read what that everything is)
Aegnor says (11:39 AM):
'Sounds like a good deal, I guess…'
Wolfbane says (11:40 AM):
(Careful, Banjo caught that one virus you told me about Happy. Just tried to give it to me)
Aegnor says (11:40 AM):
Wolfbane says (11:40 AM):
(I'll send him a PM and tell him)
Shadowcaller says (11:40 AM):
Shadowcaller says (11:43 AM):
"Helios had what?" Cessie do sound a bit suprised
"Whats a "life-orb"?"
Happy says (11:43 AM):
Simone opens her book and asks it.
Shadowcaller says (11:45 AM):
The book will tell her that a "life orb" is a strange and very seldom used device, its used to bind life energy. Once it breaks, it will kill whoever it was bound to.
Happy says (11:46 AM):
"How do you unbind it?"
Shadowcaller says (11:47 AM):
The book tells her that only a manuipulate life spell can unbind it to someone, as its used to bind it to someone.
Happy says (11:48 AM):
/Of course you will unbind their life orbs/ Simone says to Helios.
Aegnor says (11:48 AM):
(Darn Helios, why'd he go do one of those…)
(Or, well, two)
Shadowcaller says (11:48 AM):
/Thats not in the deal… but it won't be hard. You already got a necromancer with you after all…/
Aegnor says (11:49 AM):
(Bad negotiating. Oo)
Happy says (11:49 AM):
/The deal hasn't been made yet. We're still negotiating./
Aegnor says (11:49 AM):
(The other side asks you for something you can do easily and with pretty much no personal cost and you disagree just on principle?)
Wolfbane says (11:51 AM):
(Well, it /is/ Helios we are talking about here)
Shadowcaller says (11:51 AM):
/Well, if you insist. Then set up a circle and order Aegnor and Seren to step into it./
Happy says (11:53 AM):
"Helios say he can do it if you and Seren step into the circle."
Aegnor says (11:54 AM):
'Sounds good.' Aegnor sounds somewhat suspicious, though he doesn't say the 'too' inbetween.
Shadowcaller says (11:55 AM):
"But I can do it really… and we don't risk Helios doing anything with them."
Aegnor says (11:56 AM):
'Not that he would in this situation but I still trust you more.' *smile*
Happy says (11:56 AM):
"I guess decide if you taking the deal or not. If you are, I go get Seren."
Shadowcaller says (11:59 AM):
"I still don't trust him, not that when he deals with you at least."
Aegnor says (12:01 PM):
'Well, the deal sounds oddly good. It's like he's desperate for us going, but that doesn't make sense, at least not yet.'
Wolfbane says (12:01 PM):
"I think that if Helios is starting to get desperate for our help, that is a bad sign."
Shadowcaller says (12:02 PM):
/Oh, and I need you to step into the circle too Simone./
Shadowcaller says (12:05 PM):
"It's unusual, but I guess he got some scheme behind this too."
"The deal is too good for him, thats not a good sign."
Shadowcaller says (12:06 PM):
"Are you sure you want to take this?"
Happy says (12:06 PM):
"Hmph. It not /that/ good. He get five of us to do something for him, but it only release two favours."
Happy says (12:07 PM):
(no comments from Michicora?)
Shadowcaller says (12:07 PM):
(She's quiet after her outburst, just staring coldly at the circle.)
Shadowcaller says (12:08 PM):
(mumbeling something about "foolishness")
Shadowcaller says (12:09 PM):
(Is Simone responding to him?)
Happy says (12:13 PM):
/You're awfully impatient, aren't you?/
Shadowcaller says (12:13 PM):
/Just reminding you, its all coming into place…/
Wolfbane says (12:17 PM):
(*cries* I have a friend who doesn't know who The Scorpions are.)
Shadowcaller says (12:17 PM):
Cessie eyes up Aegnor, "Are you sure you want to step into that circle? We can fix something else, if Helios send those orbs to us, I can release both of you…"
Shadowcaller says (12:18 PM):
8Who are they? )
Wolfbane says (12:18 PM):
Shadowcaller says (12:19 PM):
Aegnor says (12:20 PM):
'Yeah, we'd better ask for the orbs. But this doesn't make sense… not yet, at least.'
Shadowcaller says (12:22 PM):
"None of this makes sense, and that worries me to no end. But if he send us the orbs, only I need to risk getting into them."
Happy says (12:23 PM):
(Bah, Simone is going to have to fess up, isn't she? )
Shadowcaller says (12:23 PM):
*into it
Wolfbane says (12:24 PM):
Promise thinks. "Actually, it does makes sense. If his worshippers can't expose themselves, we are pretty much the only ones with the experience to handle this kind of thing. That is why he is trying to make a good deal."
Aegnor says (12:25 PM):
'But he wanted us to go for free. It isn't like him to give in so quickly.'
Wolfbane says (12:26 PM):
"Unless there is something that he isn't telling us about the situation." He looks at Simone. "Is there something he hasn't said yet?"
Happy says (12:26 PM):
/Is there something you haven't told us about the situation?/
Shadowcaller says (12:28 PM):
/Everything is what I have told you… You just need to step into the circle, and everything will be made better. I can even fill you in on some details./
Happy says (12:30 PM):
Simone sighs. "There one more part of the deal I not tell you. I will owe him another favour too."
Aegnor says (12:31 PM):
'Oh.' Aegnor's eyes widen. 'But… hm.'
Happy says (12:32 PM):
"But that's okay. Not the same as a life."
Wolfbane says (12:33 PM):
(10 minutes before I go to class)
Shadowcaller says (12:33 PM):
Shadowcaller says (12:34 PM):
"…your just a child Simone. Are you really sure you want to do this? Helios might demand something terrible from you."
Cessie seems quite concerned
Happy says (12:37 PM):
Simone shrugs. "I can handle Helios."
Shadowcaller says (12:38 PM):
Cessie donsen't seem convinced, but stays silent
Aegnor says (12:38 PM):
'I hope you can.'
Shadowcaller says (12:39 PM):
Wolfbane says (12:39 PM):
"I"m sure she will be able to take care of anything he asks her to do without too much trouble."
Happy says (12:41 PM):
"I won't let him sacrifice my soul. And I won't help him do that to anyone else. But even though Helios usually can't be trusted, I can trust him not to waste his assets."
Shadowcaller says (12:42 PM):
"Sacrifice your soul?"
Happy says (12:42 PM):
(did Cessie miss that part of the briefing?)
Shadowcaller says (12:44 PM):
(Well, Helios already said he had a willing soul, so she isn't sure what Simone would sacrifice her soul for.)
Wolfbane says (12:44 PM):
(I'm off to class now. Brb)
Happy says (12:45 PM):
(*hugs* bye)
Shadowcaller says (12:45 PM):
Happy says (12:45 PM):
"He didn't ask that. You just said 'something terrible' and that the most terrible thing I can think of."
Shadowcaller says (12:45 PM):
"I suppose…"
Shadowcaller says (12:48 PM):
"Just fix the circle and I will unbind the orbs. I want to get this over with."
Happy says (12:48 PM):
"Then you not need Seren here?"
Shadowcaller says (12:49 PM):
"No, he donsen't need to see this…"
Happy says (12:50 PM):
Simone fixes the circle.
"We're ready, Helios."
Shadowcaller says (12:51 PM):
(Is she outside or inside the circle?)
Happy says (12:52 PM):
Shadowcaller says (12:53 PM):
Shadows burst into the circle, but this time no line or eyes appears /Then you, Seren and Aegnor need to step inside the circle…/
Happy says (12:54 PM):
"Cessie will do the unbinding. She only needs the lifeorbs."
Shadowcaller says (12:55 PM):
/Then you and her will enter the circle./
Cessie turns to Aegnor "I will be back soon…" Then she approaches the circle
Aegnor says (12:56 PM):
'Why must she go?' Oo
Shadowcaller says (12:57 PM):
"To get the orbs of course, to unbind them…"
She stops as Aegnor says that
Aegnor says (12:57 PM):
'Well he can just give them to Simone?'
Shadowcaller says (12:58 PM):
"I thought I was supposed to do it inside the circle… but I guess that works too."
Happy says (12:59 PM):
"Before I enter the circle, state the deal we are making."
Shadowcaller says (1:05 PM):
/You will do a favor that I decide the place and time for. This favor will not in any way physically harm you. In addition, your group, that will be defined in the contract you will sign, will accept a mission from me Helios. You must sign this contract. In exchange, I will let your necromancer unbind both of the orbs and unmake the favors I have to two other persons that also will be defined in
the same contract./
Shadowcaller says (1:06 PM):
/You can everyone that is defined in the contract must sign it./
Aegnor says (1:06 PM):
'Specify the mission.'
Shadowcaller says (1:06 PM):
(you don't actually hear this, but I guess Simone say it out loud.)
Happy says (1:06 PM):
(Why isn't he speaking? There's a circle)
Aegnor says (1:07 PM):
(And Cessie heard him before)
Shadowcaller says (1:07 PM):
(No, she didn't >.>)
(And he donsen't speak right now for some reason…)
Aegnor says (1:08 PM):
(How'd she know to go into the circle when he told her to then?)
Shadowcaller says (1:08 PM):
(She didn't, but Simone had set up the circle so she assumed she was to step into it once Simone said "Cessie will do the unbinding. She only needs the lifeorbs.")
Happy says (1:10 PM):
(Simone relates what Helios says then)
"A written contract? That's unusual."
Shadowcaller says (1:11 PM):
A red line forms in the shadows and moves as Helios "speaks". "Well, its hard to define you in words really. The contract will take care of all the details I might have missed."
Aegnor says (1:11 PM):
'Means he'll try and cheat in things into it.'
Happy says (1:12 PM):
"We'll need to see the contract first."
Hope looks uneasy, but doesn't speak.
Shadowcaller says (1:13 PM):
"Aegnor don't need to worry, its foolproof, not hidden features in it at all." The line forms into a smile
Shadowcaller says (1:14 PM):
"All the details in the contract will be mentioned there. Besides, its not like its a geas or anything, you aren't magically forced to follow it."
Happy says (1:17 PM):
"Then where is it?"
Shadowcaller says (1:18 PM):
"I will give you to it once you two step inside the circle…"
Aegnor says (1:18 PM):
Shadowcaller says (1:18 PM):
"Yes, Simone and the necromancer."
Cessie rolls her eyes
Aegnor says (1:19 PM):
'And why must she go in?'
Happy says (1:19 PM):
(why does everything with Helios have to be so complicated )
Shadowcaller says (1:19 PM):
"To unbind the orbs."
Aegnor says (1:19 PM):
'Why does she need to be in a circle to do that?'
Shadowcaller says (1:20 PM):
"Since I'm not giving you the orbs…"
Aegnor says (1:20 PM):
'Oh, so now you aren't, after all…'
'I guess that means we aren't going?'
Shadowcaller says (1:20 PM):
"I said I would unbind them."
"What use would they have to you after that?"
"Are you planning to life binding anyone soon?"
Aegnor says (1:21 PM):
'Sure, why not.'
Happy says (1:22 PM):
(actually, first he said he'd give the orbs without unbinding them)
Aegnor says (1:22 PM):
Shadowcaller says (1:22 PM):
"Very well, then the deal is off. I have sacrificed enough valuable artifacts on your group. Let your greed be your undoing…"
Shadowcaller says (1:23 PM):
The shadows dissapear… but Simone can feel that Helios isn't gone yet
Aegnor says (1:25 PM):
Aegnor gets up again. 'I'll go fetch something to eat.'
Shadowcaller says (1:26 PM):
Cessie dosen't look very pleased by this, but stays silent
Happy says (1:26 PM):
Simone stands up too and follows Aegnor outside, if he leaves the tent.
Aegnor says (1:27 PM):
he does
Happy says (1:27 PM):
Aegnor says (1:28 PM):
Happy says (1:28 PM):
"As long as he has your life orb, he already controls us."
Aegnor says (1:29 PM):
'Not really. I'd choose breaking it over his control.'
Shadowcaller says (1:29 PM):
(…Cessie would not have liked that.)
(The thing he just said.)
Happy says (1:30 PM):
"You might. But I wouldn't. And I not think Cessie or Hope would either."
Aegnor says (1:30 PM):
He shrugs.
Happy says (1:33 PM):
Simone scowls. "So you think that okay then? You so sure things have to be your way when you deal with Helios that you not care how it affect the rest of us?"
Aegnor says (1:34 PM):
'Go ahead, you can deal with him as you wish.'
Happy says (1:35 PM):
"This is your fault! You told me I should trust you!"
Aegnor says (1:39 PM):
He looks at her sadly. 'Well, if this means you cannot, then it's a pity.'
Happy says (1:41 PM):
"I don't understand."
Aegnor says (1:41 PM):
'Me neither.'
Happy says (1:43 PM):
"I don't want him holding your life orb, Aegnor. And I already know you going to go after the worm, no matter what happens with Helios. So why you making this so hard?"
Aegnor says (1:43 PM):
'Because I /hate/ him.'
Happy says (1:44 PM):
"More than the worm?"
Aegnor says (1:44 PM):
'In a way.'
Happy says (1:48 PM):
"What if he held Cessie's life orb instead of yours? Would you make the deal then?"
Aegnor says (1:48 PM):
'I would make the original deal whenever. And I would've made this one, if it had been the one we agreed on.'
Shadowcaller says (1:49 PM):
(Is that a sign of a bad or a good character? RP wise that is.)
Aegnor says (1:49 PM):
(As long as we get to pwn him eventually, good. )
Happy says (1:49 PM):
(the original deal?)
Shadowcaller says (1:49 PM):
(He wanted the orbs I guess >.>)
Happy says (1:50 PM):
(but that wasn't what he first said)
Aegnor says (1:50 PM):
(He wants that, if he really is fighting the worm, he stops trying to squeeze everyone and everything he comes into contact with for everything he possibly can and concentrate on actually doing it)
Happy says (1:51 PM):
(Simone is /trying/ to convince Helios that 'good will' has value and is not to be discarded so easily.)
Shadowcaller says (1:52 PM):
(Yeah… good luck with that. Helios grew up with even less trust then Simone. He might be what Simone had became if she never met the group or anyone else that would have helped her…)
Happy says (1:53 PM):
(Yeah, but Simone knew the value of keeping on people's good side, even when she didn't trust anyone)
Simone goes back into the tent.
Shadowcaller says (1:54 PM):
(Helios never experienced that value.)
Happy says (1:54 PM):
(you kind of need it when you're small and defenseless)
Shadowcaller says (1:54 PM):
(Or he did, but he didn't put much effort into it.)
Shadowcaller says (1:55 PM):
(He grew up under quite strict religious rules.)
Wolfbane says (1:56 PM):
Happy says (1:57 PM):
"Here's the deal, Helios. I step into the circle. You give Aegnor's and Seren's life orbs to me. I will give them to Cessie and she unbind them. We give Seren's unbound orb back to you. Aegnor's unbound orb he keep. I agree to do a favor for you, with the stipulations you already mention, and we agree to go after worm."
Shadowcaller says (1:59 PM):
The shadows dosen't come up but she can still hear Helios voice inside her head /The favor you will do for me will be slightly different then, but still made under the same conditions, is this acceptable?/
Happy says (2:00 PM):
/I won't do anything that would betray the group./
Shadowcaller says (2:01 PM):
/It won't be anything like that…/
Happy says (2:01 PM):
/Hmph. If you already know what it is, why not tell me?/
Shadowcaller says (2:02 PM):
/Step into the circle Simone…/
Wolfbane says (2:02 PM):
Promise really doesn't have anything to say at this point because he is already indebted to Helios.
Happy says (2:03 PM):
Simone steps into the circle.
Shadowcaller says (2:03 PM):
Cessie appears a bit confused but decides to not ask Simone until she's done "speaking"
Shadowcaller says (2:04 PM):
"Wait Simone!" Cessie yells, but its already too late, shadows emerges from the circle and Simone finds herself in Helios library again
Happy says (2:06 PM):
Simone looks around.
(what is Cessie afraid of?)
Shadowcaller says (2:07 PM):
Helios and two other figures emerge from the shadows, Nidra (the hodded female wolfen remember?) and Helia
Happy says (2:07 PM):
Simone curtseys to them.
Shadowcaller says (2:08 PM):
Helios is now in a more humanoid form, a thin shadow with red eyes and mouth. He looks quite sinister
"The favor Simone, is that you will accept a geas."
Happy says (2:09 PM):
"Of what nature?"
Shadowcaller says (2:09 PM):
"Nothing that breaks the orginal limitations…"
Shadowcaller says (2:11 PM):
Helia openly shows her disguist with Helios, Nida just quietly looks out from her murky hood. Her muzzle just sticking out of it, whithout showing the rest of her features.
Happy says (2:12 PM):
Simone waits quietly for Helios to elaborate.
Happy says (2:18 PM):
… and waits…
Shadowcaller says (2:18 PM):
"You will not in any way directly do what I would consider harmful to me or any objects or lifeforms that I consider to be my servants or my property. Furthermore, I will be allowed to send in a part of me inside your mind. This will purely be to gather information, it will not harm you in any way."
(Sorry, I had to change some of the next first.)
Happy says (2:19 PM):
"And how long does this last?"
Shadowcaller says (2:20 PM):
"Last? Until I find it nessecary to take it out again."
Happy says (2:22 PM):
"And that's the whole favor? Letting you do that?"
Shadowcaller says (2:23 PM):
"The favor is to accept the geas Simone, is seems quite simple dosen't it?"
Happy says (2:24 PM):
"I just need to amend two terms. The first is that I can't know what you would consider harmful. I can only agree not to do what I would consider harmful. You know my mind works a lot like yours, so that shouldn't be a problem for you."
Shadowcaller says (2:27 PM):
"What you would be consider to be harmful against me? Very well, you will not do anything that you in any way consider to be harmful against me or any objects or lifeforms I consider to be my servants or my property."
Shadowcaller says (2:28 PM):
Helia: "You don't need to do this…"
Happy says (2:28 PM):
"And add the word 'knowingly'. I can't be expected to know who all of your servants are or what all of your property is."
Shadowcaller says (2:29 PM):
"As you wish, then do you accept it?"
Shadowcaller says (2:30 PM):
"Ah, one little change… the part of me won't be "directly" harmful to you in any way."
Happy says (2:30 PM):
She looks at Helia. "You think I don't?"
Shadowcaller says (2:31 PM):
She seems to be about to say something, but suddenly seems to change her mind for some reason.
Happy says (2:31 PM):
"Of course. He control you too."
Happy says (2:32 PM):
"I thought you said it only there to watch?"
Shadowcaller says (2:32 PM):
"yes, I didn't lie about that Simone."
Shadowcaller says (2:33 PM):
"I had a smilar deal with Cessie."
Happy says (2:34 PM):
"And I want the geas to expire in five years."
Shadowcaller says (2:35 PM):
"Not acceptable."
Happy says (2:35 PM):
"Why not?"
Shadowcaller says (2:35 PM):
"Why? Are you planning to harm me Simone?"
Happy says (2:36 PM):
"Yeah, I pick your pocket real good, won't I?" Simone rolls her eyes.
"I not want you in my head when I start maybe finding a mate."
Wolfbane says (2:37 PM):
(*hugs Simone* )
(All those talks /didn't/ go over her head)
Aegnor says (2:38 PM):
(She just doesn't want him in her head when she starts planning on how to beat Helios)
Wolfbane says (2:38 PM):
(So she implies…but we know the truth…<.<)
Shadowcaller says (2:42 PM):
Helia smiles, but Helios expression looks pretty much the same "Really?" He smiles, but in a much more sinister way "Really Simone? You still use the word "mate"? How very… old fashioned. I tell you what, once 5 years have passed, I will let back the piece I insert inside you back to me in exchange for a favor that won't be another geas, under the same terms as this one."
Happy says (2:45 PM):
"The part about not harming you can stay. But the mind shadow is gone after five years. You want it to stay in longer, then you negotiate for it then."
Shadowcaller says (2:45 PM):
"Very well. Do you accept the deal?"
Happy says (2:45 PM):
Shadowcaller says (2:46 PM):
Simone can feel how the geas binds her.
Shadowcaller says (2:47 PM):
"Perfect…" Two orbs appears before Simone "There you go, I warn you to let Serens orb stay too long outside the circle thought. Things might happend…"
Happy says (2:48 PM):
Simone picks up the orbs.
Shadowcaller says (2:49 PM):
They glow with a dull green light. She can feel some type of energy streaming from them.
As she blinks, she's back in the circle again. Cessie still standing right outside it.
Shadowcaller says (2:50 PM):
"Are you okay?"
Happy says (2:50 PM):
"I'm fine. Can you tell which is which?"
Shadowcaller says (2:50 PM):
/The one you are holding in your right hand is Aegnors…/
"Not really…"
Happy says (2:51 PM):
"This one is Aegnor's, Helios say." Simone says, offering it to her first.
"He want Seren's orb back as soon as you finish with it. He act all threatening and stuff if it not done." *eyeroll*
Aegnor says (2:51 PM):
Aegnor is also at the tent.
Happy says (2:52 PM):
(when did he come back?)
Aegnor says (2:52 PM):
(Followed her.)
Happy says (2:52 PM):
(so he heard her terms?)
Aegnor says (2:52 PM):
(Weren't those in the circle only?)
Happy says (2:53 PM):
(the first part wasn't, where she said Aegnor got to keep his orb)
Aegnor says (2:53 PM):
(He came in only after she left)
(that is)
Shadowcaller says (2:56 PM):
"Okay, let me undo this binding then.." She holds Aegnors orb in her hand as the green light suddenly starts to fade away to slowly be replaced by a more sinister black light.
Happy says (2:56 PM):
(you know what Simone got out of all of this? That Helios is /afraid/ of her ^^)
Shadowcaller says (2:56 PM):
(He's paranoid >.>)
Happy says (2:57 PM):
(still. massive ego boost to someone who really didn't need one…)
Shadowcaller says (2:57 PM):
8She be less if she knew that Helios have that deal with pretty much all his servants.)
Happy says (2:58 PM):
(meh. She'll learn all that eventually.)
Shadowcaller says (2:58 PM):
"Okay… I think its unbond now…" Aegnors orb now glows fully black
Happy says (2:58 PM):
Simone turns to Aegnor. "It belong to you now."
Shadowcaller says (2:59 PM):
"Don't demand that I should use it thought…"
Aegnor says (2:59 PM):
'Did you find out what he wants?'
Shadowcaller says (3:01 PM):
Cessie stretches out her arm to give Aegnor the orb, "Why did you want it?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.
Aegnor says (3:02 PM):
He takes it and drops it into his pocket without paying much attention, still looking at Simone.
Shadowcaller says (3:03 PM):
A contract appears in Simones free hand
Happy says (3:03 PM):
She reads it.
Shadowcaller says (3:04 PM):
It contains the deal, with their names and identeties very carefully written out. Its extremly long, it might take a while to read all of it.
(Its actually more then one paper.)
Wolfbane says (3:04 PM):
(Read it! Especially the fine print!)
Happy says (3:05 PM):
Well she takes as long as she has to. Which might be a while since she doesn't read languages as well as she speaks them.
Aegnor says (3:05 PM):
(You're totally gonna have to write the whole thing completely so we can search for loopholes)
Shadowcaller says (3:05 PM):
(Nooo! Lets just say OCC that there is no loop holes?)
Wolfbane says (3:06 PM):
(Or just say that there are no loopholes for Helios to exploit. Your choice)
Happy says (3:06 PM):
Hope looks nervous. "I can't sign it." she says in a small voice.
Shadowcaller says (3:07 PM):
"Its nothing magical about it at least… can we unbind Serens orb first?"
Happy says (3:07 PM):
Simone: "He in a hurry to get Seren's orb back. You should unbind it first, yes."
Wolfbane says (3:08 PM):
Promise nuzzles Hope. "Its okay. Want me to do it for you?"
Aegnor says (3:08 PM):
Since he isn't getting an answer, Aegnor turns to Cessie. 'How do these things works?'
Shadowcaller says (3:08 PM):
(She haven't actually left the circle.
Happy says (3:08 PM):
(i thought i did)
Shadowcaller says (3:08 PM):
(I missed that then…)
Happy says (3:08 PM):
(she stepped out to hand the orbs to Cessie)
Shadowcaller says (3:09 PM):
(Okay, well she will unbind Serens orb and then quickly give it back to Simone.)
"Can you aswer my question first?" She dosen't sound very happy.
Happy says (3:10 PM):
Simone puts Seren's orb back in the circle.
And to answer Aegnor's question, gives him the contract to read.
Hope: "You think Helios accept your signature for mine?"
Wolfbane says (3:11 PM):
He looks at Simone. "Would he accept it if she gave permission?"
Aegnor says (3:13 PM):
Aegnor reads it.
Happy says (3:13 PM):
/Okay for Promise to sign on Hope's behalf? She illiterate./
Shadowcaller says (3:14 PM):
/SHe can't even write her own name?/
Happy says (3:14 PM):
/I guess I could show her how/
Shadowcaller says (3:15 PM):
/Yes, that would be fine./
Happy says (3:15 PM):
(which one is he saying 'fine' too?)
Shadowcaller says (3:16 PM):
(That she would show her how to write it.)
Happy says (3:18 PM):
I guess she does that, and Hope learns, and everyone signs?
Wolfbane says (3:18 PM):
Promise does so in Wolfen Rune. >.>
Shadowcaller says (3:18 PM):
The contract is very detailed, it goes on about who they are and such. The mission, that is only mentioned at the very back is apperently to find the location of the worm and then repport of this location to Helios. It also mentions a few contacts that would be of benifit of it. Sara at the "Silver Spoon" which apperently is a "fun house" and Nicolai which is mentioned in name only.
(Helios knows wolfen…)
Wolfbane says (3:19 PM):
(I know, but he'd still sign it in Wolfen)
(Kinda hard for him to write in Common because of the ways his paws are)
Aegnor says (3:19 PM):
yeah, everyone signs etc. etc.
Shadowcaller says (3:20 PM):
Yes, they do.
Happy says (3:20 PM):
And at some point, Cessie will tell Seren that he's free of Helios?
Shadowcaller says (3:21 PM):
Simone gives back the contract and the shadows emerges and takes it. She can feel how Helios finally leaves the circle.
(Well, that was intense right? Except for wolfy >.>)
Wolfbane says (3:21 PM):
Shadowcaller says (3:22 PM):
(Dose Aegnor ever answer Cessie's question by the way?)
Aegnor says (3:22 PM):
(noticed it too late)
(ask it again)
Shadowcaller says (3:23 PM):
"Aegnor?" She repeats.
Aegnor says (3:23 PM):
Shadowcaller says (3:23 PM):
"I asked you a question…"
Aegnor says (3:24 PM):
Shadowcaller says (3:25 PM):
Cessie sigh "Why did you want that orb?"
Happy says (3:25 PM):
"Don't say anything in front of me you not want Helios to know."
Aegnor says (3:25 PM):
Aegnor opens his mouth, then looks at Simone. 'Uh?'
Happy says (3:26 PM):
She taps her head. "He hanging out in there for a while."
Shadowcaller says (3:26 PM):
"Oh no… the same he did to me?"
Happy says (3:26 PM):
She shrugs. "Only for five years."
Shadowcaller says (3:27 PM):
"Only? Five years is a lot of time."
Aegnor says (3:27 PM):
'I'll call my favour to ask him to leave?'
Happy says (3:28 PM):
"Well he first want it there for life. I talk him down from that." She grins. "No, you might need it more another time."
Happy says (3:29 PM):
"Besides, he already read my mind whenever I go in and out of circle. Not like I can keep secrets from him."
Aegnor says (3:30 PM):
'Any time you want to, then. Or we can try to get rid of him directly like I did to Cessie's, at some point. It'd probably force another deal or need a lot of force though.'
Happy says (3:31 PM):
"So. You want me to leave before you answer her question?"
Aegnor says (3:32 PM):
'It doesn't really matter. I don't even know what the thing does nor do I need it for anything.'
Shadowcaller says (3:32 PM):
"Then why did you even want it?"
"Just to prove a point?"
Happy says (3:32 PM):
Simone smiles. "He want it so Helios not have it. Right?"
Aegnor says (3:33 PM):
'That works.' He gives a small smile. 'It's not like I need it myself.'
Shadowcaller says (3:34 PM):
"I think its a bit childish…" Cessie dosen't seem to share their good mood
Happy says (3:34 PM):
"The important thing is he not have Aegnor's life anymore."
Shadowcaller says (3:34 PM):
"Yes, it is…"
Aegnor says (3:36 PM):
'I didn't really want the orb. What does it even do? I just really think he needs to stop screwing around with the tenet of maximum frustration.'
Wolfbane says (3:36 PM):
Shadowcaller says (3:37 PM):
"And you taking that orb will suddenly change all that?"
Shadowcaller says (3:38 PM):
"Helios is extreme, all gods are. Well… except Artaris of course." She mumbles something on Hestopian and then continues "He will never change."
Happy says (3:39 PM):
(As the god ofknowledge, maybe helios has access to this wikipedia page:
Aegnor says (3:40 PM):
He shrugs. 'He gave the orb, who am I to argue. I'd have settled for him being reasonable for once.'
Happy says (3:40 PM):
*add ) to end of link*
Shadowcaller says (3:41 PM):
(He won't change beacuse of a wikipedia article >.> He is who he is.)
"Resonable? How do you even know that? He might have cursed that orb for all we know."
Happy says (3:41 PM):
(it's the entire concept. you can get better deals out of people you have a good relationship with)
Happy says (3:42 PM):
/Did you?/
Aegnor says (3:42 PM):
'Well then I for one would not have anything to do with him anymore, let alone follow that deal.'
Shadowcaller says (3:43 PM):
"Well, how would we know? It might be a slow curse or… well you never know."
Happy says (3:43 PM):
"He say he didn't."
Shadowcaller says (3:44 PM):
Cessie rolls her eyes "Yes, he's really trustworthy."
Happy says (3:44 PM):
"Maybe you should give orb to Kuori or Norhold," Simone says, with an impish grin.
Wolfbane says (3:45 PM):
Aegnor says (3:45 PM):
'I'd like to know what it does.'
Shadowcaller says (3:45 PM):
Michicora mumbles something for the first time in a while "Too honorable…" (only Aegnor and Promise heard that.)
Shadowcaller says (3:46 PM):
Cessie sigh "It can bind a life to it, with the help of the spell "life manipulation", it's not anything we want Aegnor."
Happy says (3:46 PM):
Hope: "Could it be used to bind the worm?"
Shadowcaller says (3:47 PM):
"I very much doubt that."
Wolfbane says (3:47 PM):
"Could it be used to weaken it a bit?"
Aegnor says (3:47 PM):
'Bind a life… Deeper, how exactly does it work?'
Shadowcaller says (3:50 PM):
"I don't know Promise… seems far fetched."
"Well, a necromancer need to have physical contact with both the person intended for the spell aswell as the orb itself. The person won't even notice this however as their life force, soul, or whatever can survive perfectly well inside the orb. Without them even noticing it. That is, until someone breaks it…"
Aegnor says (3:51 PM):
'Lifeforce… all of it?'
Shadowcaller says (3:52 PM):
"Mhm, all the lifeforce… why are you asking?"
Aegnor says (3:53 PM):
'Well, if it's in the orb, it can't be, say, drained by the attacks of spirits for instance?'
Shadowcaller says (3:54 PM):
"Um, well… I suppose not."
Aegnor says (3:54 PM):
'What is the connection of the body to the lifeforce in the orb like?'
Shadowcaller says (3:55 PM):
"If it breaks, you die. Thats all the connection there is."
Wolfbane says (3:56 PM):
"So your lifeforce is completely separated from your body by this?"
Promise is just curious by this.
Shadowcaller says (3:56 PM):
Wolfbane says (3:56 PM):
Happy says (3:56 PM):
(Happy is in need of sleep)
Wolfbane says (3:56 PM):
Aegnor says (3:56 PM):
'Then how could I use it to heal…?'
Shadowcaller says (3:56 PM):
Happy says (3:57 PM):
Simone: "This must be related to Helena's orb."
Shadowcaller says (3:57 PM):
"Well, except that you don't gain immortality from this one, and its much easier to manipulate."
Happy says (3:58 PM):
"But it must use similar magic. Maybe you can study this to help you learn more about the other one."
Shadowcaller says (3:58 PM):
She turns to Promise "Yes.. the life force is complely seperated from the body, but you still die if you die."
Shadowcaller says (4:00 PM):
"You all seem strangely intruigued by this, its just a cruel life prison used by necromancers."
Aegnor says (4:00 PM):
'Aren't you the one who believes in 'it's not what it is, it's how it is used'?'
Wolfbane says (4:00 PM):
"I think… it could be used for much more than that."
Shadowcaller says (4:01 PM):
"Well… but its mostly used for bad things."
Wolfbane says (4:02 PM):
Something on the ground near her feet catches Cessie's eyes.
Shadowcaller says (4:02 PM):
She looks down
Wolfbane says (4:02 PM):
It is a rather familiar looking smooth stone.
Shadowcaller says (4:03 PM):
(Cursed! Cursed!)
Happy says (4:03 PM):
I guess Hope will try to see Michicora alone, and we can rp that conversation tomorrow.
And Simone will go off and study her book.
Shadowcaller says (4:03 PM):
Shadowcaller says (4:04 PM):
She gives it an odd look and then just shakes her head and turns back to Promise and Aegnor again.
Wolfbane says (4:04 PM):
Shadowcaller says (4:04 PM):
(Hey, she dosen't belive in moving stones >.>=
Wolfbane says (4:05 PM):
Shadowcaller says (4:05 PM):
"What are you planning Aegnor? I know your up to something…"
Aegnor says (4:06 PM):
'I'm just curious. It has to have some sort of a connection to the body, for otherwise I couldn't use it, right?'
Shadowcaller says (4:06 PM):
"What do you mean?"
Aegnor says (4:07 PM):
'If I'm completely separated from my lifeforce I… well, die, of course, and at least am unable to use it, correct?'
Shadowcaller says (4:08 PM):
"…I think."

Happy has left the conversation.

Wolfbane says (4:10 PM):
Aegnor says (4:10 PM):
'Lifespan and aging is connected to lifeforce, right? Getting more lifeforce requires doing morally unacceptable things, but the other way would be reducing the rate at which it is used? I don't really know much about the subject but that's how it sounds to me with simply common sense.'
Wolfbane says (4:11 PM):
Promise thinks for a second. "It seems to make sense to me."
Shadowcaller says (4:12 PM):
"I can't remember the details, but using less life energy… possibly."
Aegnor says (4:13 PM):
'Or, what liches do, using something else for life energy.'
Shadowcaller says (4:14 PM):
"…liches use magic for life energy."
Wolfbane says (4:15 PM):
(Does the Worm use life energy, or magic energy for life?)
Aegnor says (4:15 PM):
'So what this orb really is is just a fragile life-energy storage?'
(It's own energy)
Shadowcaller says (4:15 PM):
(Yeah… it's more of a third type of energy source.)
Shadowcaller says (4:16 PM):
"One might describe it as that yes."
"But I'm not entiertly sue who would use it for that."
Shadowcaller says (4:17 PM):
Aegnor says (4:18 PM):
'Options… One could either find a way to get more life energy, *raises a finger* find an alternative source of energy, *raises another finger* or use the existing life energy slower, somehow avoiding adverse effects. *third finger.'
Wolfbane says (4:18 PM):
"Are you able to put magic into the orb some othe way?"
(Promise has something completely different on his mind than immortality)
Wolfbane says (4:20 PM):
Shadowcaller says (4:20 PM):
"No, no, no… life energy don't mix, not like that. I could take life energy from a animal and that would give me an energy boost, but it wouldn't make me live longer."
"And you still age the same, even if the life energy is within the orb."
Shadowcaller says (4:21 PM):
"magic… why are you asking Promise?"
Aegnor says (4:21 PM):
'I know, option 1 would require somehow converting it into energy suitable for yourself. Didn't that necklace do something like that?'
Wolfbane says (4:22 PM):
"I'm asking because, if so, if it breaks, does it realease it all at once? And would it be deadly?"
Shadowcaller says (4:23 PM):
"Deadly? I have no idea really."
Wolfbane says (4:23 PM):
(Would ask Simone to ask Helios, but Happy isn't here. >.>)
Shadowcaller says (4:24 PM):
"Yes, but the necklance was very special… I think. The orb don't have the same type of of enchantments as it have."
Aegnor says (4:25 PM):
'Well, I was charting possible ways in general.'
Wolfbane says (4:26 PM):
"Well, if not, could it store magic you put into it so you can use it later? Say for a powerful spell against the Worm?"
Shadowcaller says (4:27 PM):
"Whoa… I'm not fighting the worm Promise… no way."
Wolfbane says (4:28 PM):
"Nonono, thats not what I mean."
"I'm just searching for possible uses."
Shadowcaller says (4:30 PM):
"Magic can't actually be stored since its a form of energy, not just by its name. Life "energy" is a misnomer, but magic energy isn't. You constantly summon it from the elemental realms that then converts into other types of energy."
Aegnor says (4:33 PM):
'Hmm. Do you have any idea how the necklace converts lifeforce to be suitable for prolonging life?'
Wolfbane says (4:33 PM):
Promise is back to sitting there, trying to think of ideas.
Shadowcaller says (4:34 PM):
"No idea, I didn't have it for long and its magic was way beyond my level of learning."
Aegnor says (4:34 PM):
'Even on the level of theory, how would something like that work?'
Shadowcaller says (4:36 PM):
"Well… I think it might have something with spirit energy to do. Just like certain mortal-bond spirits can take life energy to live longer."
Shadowcaller says (4:37 PM):
"It's related to necromancy, so I think it might be a combination of magic and spirit energy…"
Aegnor says (4:37 PM):
'It shouldn't be too hard to modify the orb to only hold a part of someone's life energy.'
Shadowcaller says (4:38 PM):
"And what good would that do exactly?"
Aegnor says (4:39 PM):
He smiles. 'We find out how to do the conversion, I put a part of my energy in it and then you make it yours, giving us extra time to find true immortality for you.'
Wolfbane says (4:40 PM):
(Now, if that isn't love…)
Shadowcaller says (4:44 PM):
"…the problem is still to convert the energy…" She stops, as if she just realized what he just said, looking a bit suprised. "…I don't want to take it from Aegnor." She stammers.
Shadowcaller says (4:46 PM):
<*you Aegnor
Wolfbane says (4:47 PM):
Promise is letting them have their moment. >.>
Aegnor says (4:48 PM):
'My life is yours already, Cessie. And it would just be a temporary solution.'
Shadowcaller says (4:49 PM):
She shakes her head "No, I'm not taking anything that rightully yours Aegnor. I must find my own way."
Shadowcaller says (4:51 PM):
(Ugh, caught in a duet…)
Aegnor says (4:52 PM):
'Well, if you are unwilling to take any life from someone willing for a temporary solution, I suppose we will have to look into the other possibilities. Using something else in the place of life energy or reducing the rate at which you use it.'
Shadowcaller says (4:53 PM):
"…I'm still working on Reorns orb. I'm sure I will make it work in time."
Aegnor says (4:54 PM):
'I'm always willing to give you extra time if needed. How does Reorn's orb even work?'
Shadowcaller says (4:56 PM):
"Its very complicated, I can't break inside it yet. It operates on spirit and elemental energy at least. It constantly summon energy from the elemental plan, but gives no signs of it unless you are /really/ close."
Aegnor says (4:58 PM):
He smiles and takes her hand. 'You'll figure it out soon enough.'
Shadowcaller says (5:00 PM):
She sigh "I hope so…" She also adds very quietly "I think we are boring Promise…"
Wolfbane says (5:01 PM):
Shadowcaller says (5:01 PM):
Wolfbane says (5:02 PM):
Promise shakes his head with a smile. "No, I'm fine."
Shadowcaller says (5:04 PM):
She smiles back awkwardly as he wasn't supposed to hear that.
Wolfbane says (5:05 PM):
(She forgets how good Wolfen hearing is. )
Shadowcaller says (5:05 PM):
Wolfbane says (5:06 PM):
(If you hadn't meant for him to hear it, you should have said "quietly to herself or Aegnor" >.>)
Shadowcaller says (5:06 PM):
(Why that make a differance? )
Wolfbane says (5:07 PM):
(I don't know? <.<)
Shadowcaller says (5:09 PM):
Cessie attempts to change the subject "…So, I guess we are going to Terra port?"
Wolfbane says (5:13 PM):
Promise shrugs. "I go where you all go."
Aegnor says (5:15 PM):
'I suppose we'll go there, yeah.'
Shadowcaller says (5:15 PM):
"What of the village?"
Aegnor says (5:15 PM):
(Did the contract have a time limit?)
Shadowcaller says (5:18 PM):
(It did actually, 4 weeks, but it was negtionable.)
Aegnor says (5:19 PM):
(Four weeks to accomplish the mission or to just get there?)
Shadowcaller says (5:21 PM):
(For the mission, but time could be added or taken away depending on the circumstances.)
Aegnor says (5:24 PM):
'We'll need to figure something out…'
Shadowcaller says (5:25 PM):
"Any ideas?"
Wolfbane says (5:25 PM):
"Is this place safe to settle down for a while?"
Aegnor says (5:25 PM):
'I doubt the wolfen would want us to.'
Wolfbane says (5:26 PM):
Promise shrugs. "Then maybe ask for a nearby safe area?"
Aegnor says (5:26 PM):
'It's a desert, all the suitable locations are either taken or a warzone.'
Shadowcaller says (5:28 PM):
"We can't just leave them…"
Aegnor says (5:28 PM):
'Only place with water which wouldn't be taken yet that I can think of is the ruins.'
Shadowcaller says (5:30 PM):
"But with the artifact destroyed… who knows what will happend?"
Wolfbane says (5:31 PM):
(What was the name of the city near the prison?)
Shadowcaller says (5:31 PM):
(Terra Port.)
Wolfbane says (5:32 PM):
"Other than the prison, is Terra Port generally friendly?"
Shadowcaller says (5:32 PM):
"Your asking us? I never heard of it before…"
Wolfbane says (5:32 PM):
Aegnor says (5:34 PM):
'The prison…'
'You know, it's odd.'
Wolfbane says (5:34 PM):
"What is?"
Aegnor says (5:35 PM):
'Your story, about how they experiment on people and seem to cause beneficial effects like what you said the bird-woman had… It's very similar to what the worm cultists did to me.'
Wolfbane says (5:36 PM):
Promise looks up sharply. "Could it be the same cult?"
"I didn't notice anything out of place, but I wasn't really looking either."
Aegnor says (5:37 PM):
'And if they figure out how to cause changes like that in their soldiers…'
Wolfbane says (5:38 PM):
Promise nods. "We need to wipe them out before anything else. The worm is powerful enough as is, with them behind it…"
Shadowcaller says (5:39 PM):
"…they did all that too you too Aegnor?"
Aegnor says (5:40 PM):
He looks a bit uncomfortable. 'Well, as we pass by the city, should we devote time to taking out the fortress?'
Shadowcaller says (5:41 PM):
"What?" Cessie looks shocked "We can't take out an entire fortress."
Aegnor says (5:42 PM):
'Easier than taking out the worm, isn't it?'
Wolfbane says (5:42 PM):
"They are probably still taking care of a lot of wounded. I killed several, two of their wizards are dead, and several golems are gone. Plus, I know the inside."
Shadowcaller says (5:43 PM):
"Yes, but what do that have to do with anything?"
Wolfbane says (5:43 PM):
"If this is part of the same cult that…" he gestures at Aegnor purposefully. "They could be helping /it/."
Shadowcaller says (5:44 PM):
"I don't know… its too dangerous."
Wolfbane says (5:46 PM):
"All I'd need to do is get in and release the prisoners. They'll gladly take out the rest of the dwarves there."
Shadowcaller says (5:47 PM):
"A bunch of weaponless prisoners? This is all fantasies, how many dwarves don't you think there are there, protecting that fortress…"
Shadowcaller says (5:48 PM):
"I'm not letting you risk your lives like that unless its absolutely nessecary."
Wolfbane says (5:48 PM):
"What if it /is/ absolutely necessary and we don't know?"
Aegnor says (5:49 PM):
Aegnor looks at Promise closely, trying to see if he just wants to destroy the place because of what they did.
Wolfbane says (5:50 PM):
He'll be able to tell that he is barely able to keep his face straight.
Shadowcaller says (5:50 PM):
"You have no proof that these dwarves are a part of this cult, while I like to belive Aegnor, I find it a bit of a stretch that the same cult would operate here too."
Wolfbane says (5:50 PM):
(Maybe we should wait for Happy?)
Shadowcaller says (5:51 PM):
(Her character isn't here.)
Wolfbane says (5:51 PM):
(Oh, I thought she was)
Wolfbane says (5:53 PM):
Promise calms down and sighs. "Maybe it is, but we probably should check it out, just in case. We don't want to be attacked from behind."
Shadowcaller says (5:53 PM):
"Attacked from behind?"
Wolfbane says (5:54 PM):
"Well, if we leave them alone, and find out later that they are part of the cult, they could cause a lot of damage /here/ where we can't get to them quickly enough depending on how far away we are at the time."
Aegnor says (5:56 PM):
'I doubt they're a short-term threat, but they could be very dangerous if they get soldiers capable of draining magic and casting spells with it, for example. Not to mention, what they're doing is horrible.'
Shadowcaller says (5:56 PM):
She sigh "Still, its an entire fortress, a dwarven fortress to that. You killed the two doing the experiments right? That might solve it."
Wolfbane says (5:57 PM):
"We only /saw/ two."
Wolfbane says (5:58 PM):
"And there is one big weakness in the fort." He smiles. "Where we escaped. There is no way they could have covered up that hole by now and they would never expect someone to /return/ through there."
Aegnor says (5:59 PM):
(I'm getting sleepy.)
Shadowcaller says (5:59 PM):
"Yeah… but that would only help if we are infiltrating it. You are talking about wiping out the entire fortress here. That takes an army."
Aegnor says (5:59 PM):
(Or enough high explosives)
Aegnor says (6:00 PM):
'Infiltrate, take over armoury and free the prisoners, link the two.'
Wolfbane says (6:00 PM):
"Then we'll only infiltrate it and if there are any more wizards left, kill them and destroy their equipment."
Wolfbane says (6:01 PM):
"Or bring their stuff back with us for you."
Shadowcaller says (6:01 PM):
"Those are /prisoners/ Aegnor, they are most likely half-starved and desperate. If any of them have even hold a weapon before, i be suprised."
Wolfbane says (6:01 PM):
"I was half starved and desperate."
Aegnor says (6:01 PM):
'One of those /prisoners/ was capable of draining enemies and even golems with a single touch.''
Shadowcaller says (6:01 PM):
"Yeah, the ones in the special cells."
Wolfbane says (6:02 PM):
"What if there were /more/ of those cells? I didn't explore every room and passage."
Shadowcaller says (6:04 PM):
"Its a possibilty I guess. But my point here is that any of you could die in the progress. Even finding the worm sounds safer then this, at least we don't need to fight it…"
Wolfbane says (6:06 PM):
Promise sighs and looks down. "I just can't leave those people in there. I've left them twice already."
Shadowcaller says (6:07 PM):
"…it's too dangerous."
Shadowcaller says (6:08 PM):
"I can't support this. I would like to free those Prisoners too Promise, but in those small passage ways…"
Wolfbane says (6:09 PM):
"Can you at least promise me that we'll try sometime? Maybe not soon, but someday."
Shadowcaller says (6:10 PM):
"Try someday? Why would it be less dangerous then? It would be easier to just expose the dwarves to some nearby empire and they might take care of it for us."
Wolfbane says (6:11 PM):
"But to do that, we need proof, and I doubt a single Wolfen will be proof enough."
Shadowcaller says (6:12 PM):
"I'm sure we can think of something, its still better then the other options…"
Wolfbane says (6:16 PM):
"As long as at least one of them gets out alive."
Shadowcaller says (6:16 PM):
Cessie attempts to change the subject yet again as she appears grown uncomfortable with this disscussion (But Murska is sleepy… ) "…We are going to need money."
Wolfbane says (6:20 PM):
Promise chuckles. "That seems to be the one thing we are always short on."
Aegnor says (6:20 PM):
'Along with quite a few other things, as usual.'
Shadowcaller says (6:21 PM):
"Any idea how we can get it?… we could sell a few things I guess."
Wolfbane says (6:21 PM):
(This is for the thing with Helios, right?)
Aegnor says (6:21 PM):
'I can perform.'
Shadowcaller says (6:22 PM):
Wolfbane says (6:23 PM):
(I can't remember, did we agree to do the thing for Helios?)
Shadowcaller says (6:23 PM):
"That seems so beneath your abilities Aegnor… some street performer…"
(To find the worm.)
(We need to hire a boat for example.)
Wolfbane says (6:24 PM):
"Well, if Helios is wanting us to do this on time, he'll need to fund us." He says with a slight grin.
Wolfbane says (6:25 PM):
"Or at least give us what we need."
Shadowcaller says (6:26 PM):
"I guess we could ask him."
